As time goes on it will be more clear that musk is one of the few mega rich people using his money to further western principles What are these "western principles"? The USA is in the process of becoming an oligarchy. It's easy to see how well that has worked for ordinary Russians.
February 16, 20251 yr Popular Post Even just the thought of Trump doing something to benefit the nation, and to increase the financial security of the nation is beyond the ability to comprehend. That's just not who he is.

On average, the American taxpayer was charged $800,000 each round for billeting his Secret Service detail. All up, $240 million. That does not include the $2 billion the Saudis pumped into son-in-law Kushner's company. Now post any Democrat President who has come within a bull's roar of those amounts.

If you can tell me how raising tariffs against allies and cutting taxes for billionaires makes America great again, I'm listening. Let me answer your question another way. Just using tariffs as an example to make the point. By increasing tariffs against canada, he is hurting some canadian inudustries, but benefiting some american industries. So is it a good or bad thing? Depends who you are. Also, as a result of this, Canada might cozy up to the EU more. So in other words, that may set up an entire chain of events and it might take 10 years to see the full extent the impact of just this one decision will have. My point is that there is so much complexity involved in some of the decisions they are making that it's practically impossible to gauge if it's "good" or "bad". And anyone who keeps talking negatively about Trump as though everything he does is stupid is being silly. If you're overly indoctrinated either pro or anti Trump, then you render yourself useless to analyzing anything he is doing objectively.

Nations with sovereign wealth funds generally get those funds from taxing natural resources such as petroleum or natural gas or charging royalties. And their budgets run a surplus or they have already accumulated enough founds to finance deficit spending. Do you believe that the US should go further into debt to acquire such funding? Or do you support the US increasing royalties on natural resource extraction to the same level that most other countries do on such resources?
