cliveshep Posted Wednesday at 06:32 AM Posted Wednesday at 06:32 AM My lovely smart Thai wife found this on Lazada - essentially old box new guts it seems. Specs are quite good I think, it has 16gb DDR ram, 500gb SSD. Cost with those selections is thb14000. I still need to buy a monitor. Link is https://www.lazada.co.th/products/dell-optiplex-7090-tower-cpu-core-i5-11500-max-460ghz-gen11-ssd-m2-nvme-windows-11-wifiblutooth-used-i5510585683-s23401263322.html? I like Dell, my previous 2 Dell laptops have been pretty good, bits readily available like keyboards, screens, HDD's, fans, all of which I have changed over the years here in Thailand. Decided not to buy another lappie as I got one eye with cloudy vision and the other not so good, I am 79 so nothing will improve and no money for medical intervention so a nice big 24 inch screen will serve better. Comments please - is it a decent spec for the money bearing in mind it is a Dell!
jvs Posted Wednesday at 06:49 AM Posted Wednesday at 06:49 AM I have been using an old tv as a pc screen and it works just fine for me. It is a 30 inch Samsung and easy on the eyes. Lots of second hand tv's for sale.
CharlieH Posted Wednesday at 07:53 AM Posted Wednesday at 07:53 AM I recently bought a brand new system for under 5k (exc monitor) Gone are the days of the bulky tower systems. I strongly suggest you look closer at the latest mini-pc's for general use. Less than 8k all in with 27inch monitor and windows 11 pro.

Can you link it for me?

Like this: there are a choice of models, I go the 16gb ram 500g SSD version https://www.lazada.co.th/products/beelink-pc-s12-pro-in-12th-n100-34ghz-16gb-ddr4-500gb-m2-pcie-ssd4k-dual-hdmi-wifi6bt52usb321000mbps-lanwol-homeoffice-i5345999127-s22719066092.html? Being so small, its easy to just take it with you. Most hotels have a TV in the room, use that as you monitor and take a wireless keyboard and mouse and you can go anywhere with it. It measures about 4 x 4 x 1.5 inch
dddave Posted Wednesday at 10:14 AM Posted Wednesday at 10:14 AM In the last year I have bought several LENOVO THINKPADS on Lazada and they have been excellent. All 3 are former Japanese corporate machines and were in Pristine condition with 90% battery still available. The most expensive was a 6th gen Carbon X1, 16gb/512SSD B8500. Other 2 were a T780 B5500 and an X270 B4000 These are a good or better than any desktop you can find. If you need a larger display, you can use a monitor or a flat screen TV via HDMI. Note: Only buy from a domestic, Thailand based seller, never an overseas seller. Way to many scams. When I ordered a laptop from a Chinese seller, I received a box labeled as the computer but contained a plastic necklace. Lazada did refund but it was hard lesson. 1
