Police have launched an investigation after the body of a young schoolgirl, believed to be around 12 to 13 years old, was discovered stuffed inside a sack by the roadside in Mae Sot, Tak Province. Authorities estimate she had been dead for at least two weeks.

The gruesome discovery was made in Ban Nam Dip, Mae Ka subdistrict, when a local dog dragged a piece of decomposed flesh and bone onto the road. Nearby, residents noticed a foul-smelling green hessian sack lying by the roadside with its opening partially undone.

Police from Checkpoint 409, located along the Mae Sot–Mae Ramat road, were alerted and arrived at the scene along with forensic officers and rescue teams. Upon examination, they found skeletal remains clad in a partially removed pair of black school tracksuit bottoms, likely dislodged by scavenging animals.

The decomposed body wearing a white and blue school sports jersey bearing the emblem of Ban San Pa Rai School in Phra That subdistrict, Mae Ramat district. Forensic examination and evidence suggested she had been bludgeoned on the head with a bamboo stick.

Authorities suspect the victim was lured, assaulted, and murdered before her body was stuffed into the sack and dumped by the roadside.

The remains have been sent to Mae Sot Hospital for further examination, including DNA identification. Police are reviewing missing person reports in the area and have contacted local schools in an effort to establish the girl’s identity.

That area has a lot of people without citizenship / Thai id and is a dodgy border area outside of normal society. The authorities may not have been contacted or a missing person's report may have just been filed in a cabinet.

Parents don't care anymore. Kids wander off, "She's with a friend."

you mean Thai parents don't care ....   actually ... they are not parents,   they are drunken imbeciles who go next door to the neighbors and booze,   so why care about two or three kids  10, 12 and whatever.

UPDATE
Young man suspects Murdered Body in Sack Is His Missing Mother

A young man, a Myanmar national, identified as Mr. Ji, has come forward, fearing that a body discovered stuffed inside a sack may be his missing mother. He identified a sports outfit found on the body as similar to one belonging to his younger sister, which his mother often wore. However, he remains uncertain if the body is indeed hers. Police have called him in for immediate questioning.

The case concerns the discovery of a female corpse, estimated to be around 12-13 years old, found murdered and concealed inside a green sack. The sack was dumped along Road 5026, between Ban Nam Dip and Mae Ja Rao, in Moo 6, Mae Kasa subdistrict, Mae Sot district, Tak province. The body was dressed in a sports shirt, though the tracksuit bottoms were partially removed. Investigators noted visible head injuries. However, police later stated they could not now confirm whether the victim was male or female until forensic identification was completed.

On February 28, forensic officers from Tak province arrived at Ban Nam Dip, Moo 6, Mae Kasa, Mae Sot, to gather evidence from the scene, which was located one kilometre from the village. The evidence was collected for analysis and submitted to Mae Sot Police Station. Officers documented and photographed the area, including traces found on the road and along the roadside where the body was discovered.

At this stage, the investigation has yet to yield any significant breakthroughs. However, a dedicated team of detectives has been deployed to assist in solving the case.
