March 7, 20251 yr You can only choose the country nothing else. What country would you choose and how far up the list would being born in Thailand be? I'd choose Norway ( sovereign wealth fund and good education system) Thailand would be around the 50th best country. I love Thailand but wouldn't want to be born here.

March 8, 20251 yr Birth Country - Switzerland. Mother - Norwegian. Father - Australian. Raised in - America. I reckon thats bout the best combo.
March 8, 20251 yr Of the only 2 I've lived in, I'd choose USA over TH. Growing up poor there, is definitely better than growing up poor in TH.

March 8, 20251 yr It’s an interesting question, but one I don’t really have a definitive answer for. A lot depends on what you value most in life, and I can’t think of a single country that checks every box. Ideally, you’d want to grow up in a place with a great climate, no extreme weather, beautiful nature, good food, low crime, a strong education system, no wars, no religious fanaticism, freedom of speech, a widely spoken native language, and a passport that makes global travel easy. Very few countries, if any, meet all these criteria. But if I had to pick, Switzerland and Spain seem to check more boxes than most.

But I don't think there's really freedom of speech anywhere, just choices of different limitations.

March 8, 20251 yr I think I would apply to put it off for 20/30 years, things may improve by then? On the other hand....
March 8, 20251 yr Amazing that no one mentions New Zealand, or even Australia. Thailand would be on the very bottom of the list, obviously. Unless my parents were in the top 1% income level..
March 8, 20251 yr Quote If you were going to be born today? What country would you choose 1) If I was born today I would be less than a day old and seriously doubt to be able to make any choice of anything... how would I have developed the facilities, experiences and articulation to do that? 2) If I was born today, I would have most probably been born in a country already, so my choice would have to have been made before birth, in utero. As such your parameters are paradoxical. However, I would be interested in hearing your explanation.

March 8, 20251 yr Would have said AUS, but it's so Woke down there, maybe after Albo looses in May, a different direction might improve things. On that matter, then Singapore. Speaks English, crime and litter free, handy location to fly anywhere, good education, foods good, so is the National Beer.

His presidency was noted for restoring confidence in government, after the scandals of the Harding administration.
