Police in Lopburi launched a manhunt for a suspect following the fatal stabbing of a man whose body was discovered at a roadside shelter late the night of 10 March. Shockingly, witnesses had seen the victim walking along the roadside earlier that day, unaware that he would later be found dead.

Authorities were alerted to the crime scene near a petrol station on Highway 21 (km 15+100) in Ban Chong Sarika, Phatthana Nikhom district, at approximately midnight. Investigating officers, including forensic specialists and local administrative officials, arrived to find the victim lying face down in a pool of blood.

The deceased, believed to be between 40 and 45 years old, was wearing a white collared T-shirt, jeans, and flip-flops. A black backpack remained strapped to his back. He had suffered multiple stab wounds to his face, neck, and torso, with a total of six deep wounds recorded. These included injuries to his right cheekbone, jaw, neck, under the chin, left chest, and right side.

Investigators from Phatthana Nikhom Police Station, along with forensic teams, scoured the area for evidence and reviewed nearby CCTV footage to identify and track any suspect’s movements.

A highway patrol officer recounted seeing the victim walking along the roadside earlier in the day, carrying his black backpack. He had been travelling from the neighbouring Khok Salung subdistrict, but was not seen again until his body was found that night. No identification documents were recovered from the scene, complicating efforts to determine the victim’s identity.

The suspect remains at large, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. Meanwhile, the victim’s body has been transferred to Phatthana Nikhom Hospital for further forensic examination.

Police have vowed to bring the perpetrator to justice and are intensifying their efforts to track down the assailant responsible for the brutal attack
