From the CNN link above:

Among the American public overall, the Democratic Party’s favorability rating stands at just 29% – a record low in CNN’s polling dating back to 1992 and a drop of 20 points since January 2021, when Trump exited his first term under the shadow of the January 6 attack at on Capitol. "It’s not just the messaging that’s the problem, but being continually on the wrong side of 80/20 matters.

Perhaps it’s time to stop taking cues from the New York Times, which is attempting to turn Trump into the next Stalin. And perhaps it’s also time to stop listening to tone-deaf consultants and more to, you know … voters."

About the (D) number: Undoubtedly some Americans are dissatisfied that the (D) party isn't being treasonous enough, but mostly the low approval rating is because Americans have finally discovered that treason is not, in fact, a rational basis for a political party.

About the (R) number: Americans don't like legacy swamp creatures impeding the agenda of a popular president.
