A ten-wheel lorry driver lost control and overturned into a canal in Nong Phai district, Phetchabun, leaving him trapped inside and unable to escape, resulting in his tragic drowning.

At approximately 14:00 on 16 March, officers from Nong Phai Police Station received reports of a vehicle crash near Ban Nong Muang, Tha Daeng subdistrict. The vehicle, initially reported as a car, was later confirmed to be a ten-wheel lorry that had overturned and landed upside down in the water.

Emergency responders from the Ruam Katanyu Foundation, along with rescue teams equipped with hydraulic cutting tools, were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, they found the lorry submerged, with the driver trapped inside. The force of the crash had jammed the doors and collapsed the roof, making escape impossible.

Rescue teams worked to cut open the vehicle and retrieve the driver’s body. Once recovered, the deceased was transported to Nong Phai Hospital, for an autopsy.

Police are now investigating the cause of the crash and gathering further details about the victim.
