Can the under 50 year old wife and 3 year old son apply for Non-O Dependent Visas to accompany a Retired Non-O?

I ask because there are TWO NON-O Visas that seem to apply.

One is called FOR PROVIDING SUPPORT TO OR BEING A DEPENDANT OF A PERSON WHO HAVING RESIDENCY IN THAILAND (NON-O)

And seems to require a work permit:

Quote

In case the applicant’s family is a foreigner with a permit to reside in Thailand:

residency certificate, alien registration certificate, work permit, a copy of passport and house registration

The other is called FOR PROVIDING SUPPORT TO OR BEING A DEPENDANT OF A THAI CITIZEN (SPOUSE VISA) (NON-O) OR PERSON HAVING RESIDENCY IN THAILAND... a two pager that doesn't have a work permit requirement but does have an income/saving requirement (40k/400k).

It seems as a Retired Non-O, the second one applies and the wife needs to have a bank account with 400k THB in her name from a foreign account in her name. (Or 40k THB monthly income stream).

Am I reading that right?

How about the 3 year old son?

Anyone have recent experience with this kind of visa?

Thanks. My wife and son are both foreigners, like me.

What does "Married to Thai" mean? The visa is only for people married to a Thai?

Non O based on marriage to a Thai has nothing to do with your situation.

What you are asking about is non Thai wife piggyback on your Extensions from a Non O based on retirement.

If e-Visa provides option for her to obtain Non O as a dependent then that's a possibility.

She needs to obtain the Non O outside of Thailand.

Put child aside for the moment.

I read your other threads. Are you now on birth certificate?

Have you considered DTV .

That provides for non Thai spouse.

Thank you!

I'm trying to find out if a Non O e-Visa is offered from her consulate.

Yes, I'm on his birth certificate.

Haven't considered a DTV. I'll take a look.

TIA

Needs to be obtained outside of Thailand.

Are you located in Thailand currently.

Where.

No. We're in China. Have a trip to Chiangmai in May to look around for a rental.

Looking at DTV, not sure I qualify. I'm a retired dad.

I had a OA until China opened up. I let it lapse to be with my family using my Chinese tourist visa.

Now my Chinese tourist visa is set to expire.

I was thinking I'd be able to do a Retirement Non O and have them piggyback. Traveling back to apply is not a problem.
