New Phone Riddled with Garbage Apps

Just bought a new Xoami Redmi 14
Riddled with bloatware

The only reason I bought a new phone was the other two are now not getting updates stuck at Android 10 and 12.

If you have banking apps essential you keep that stuff up to date.

My initial uninstall is all the useless apps like Amazon etc then there are embedded apps that you cannot uninstall with the tap of a finger

these apps ruin any phone stealing battery and data 

 

There is a way to do it connecting to computer in total i have removed 60 items so far 

This stops the phone talking to Google and China continiously and makes the phone ok

I had a redmi 7 its still a great functional phone 48mp camera but stuck on android 10 4 versions old
I stripped out all the crap app and my battery life was doubled instanly 
its still a great phone to use but not for banking or anything that requires  higher security.
 

So if you have a phone that has annoying ads and apps seek out someone who can uninstall the crap for a better user experience.

This is the reason I don't buy Chinese branded phones.

 

If you need regular Android versions/updates, go for Samsung phones or Google Pixel phones.  They give you the longest Android updates and security updates.

 

Samsung phones may still come with some bloatware but Pixel phones have the least bloatware.

I own a  Pixel it is only 2.5 yrs old it was a verizon selloff brand new but already it has stopped updates stuck at android 12.
I just rooted it and put on android 14 but as it is rooted just like Android 12 it is no use for banking

Trump actually threatened to shut down all phones whose security updats had expired.

Google has changed its mandate on updates which was its major flaw  leaving customers in the wind. like me.

They now give os and security updates equitable to iphones

my old redmi was an ok fone still is
I may lineage or pixel it

 

Now Xiaomi  is using Hyper OS and is far more entangled with google than before
ive stripped it but could possibly take it further

These are good phones ruined by software bloat
but its got security and OS updates for 4 years so thats cool

Agreed. I bought a Redmi Note 8 nearly 5 years ago and after 3 months put a custom ROM on it with Android 10 as I was so hacked off with the telemetry.  Persevered with various banking hacks (for a Thai bank) for a few years before conceding and buying a separate phone to use pretty much exclusively for that. I could upgrade it but why.........

The "old" phone is still my daily driver. No Google or Meta and AF Wall+ stops most outgoing telemetry from the phone. Punching in the dark - probably, but makes me feel better......

my gripe too
im actually late into using banking apps

dont use the fone for gaming etc
I am still running the redmi 7 on the original 10 it was a lot easier to strip out than the new Hyper OS they have.(the list down the bottom is not complete I have to thank the XDA forum the contributers there made it so easy)

As you aready done your 8 theres some cool new builds for the 8 which is testament to the quality of a fone thats 5 years old.
