Hi , I had it all planned out - Enter visa exempt ( 60 days ) then extend at immigration ( another 30 ) . Then border bounce at Nonghai over the bridge and back ( another 60 ) . Job done . But now it`s all changed again - maybe now only 30 days VEE and the requirement to spend 2 nights in Vientienne instead of coming straight back .

Just had a look at the visa options ... SETV gets you 60 ( + 30 ) , retirement gets you 90 . Then there`s the O-A that needs insurance . I have the required 800,000 in an account , so what are my best options ? TINA .

Hi , thanks for that . The Non O retirement ( 90 days ) e-visa might be ok if the 60 VEE goes back to 30 . Would it be possible to extend this by another 30 days at immigration . I hope to visit 3 places this time - Prachuap KK ( not much there but has a nice beach ) Patts , and Udon . Never been anywhere in Laos before , so was hoping to avoid having to stay there but it looks like that might be a better option for me than the Cambo run ( did that by minibus a few yrs ago and didn`t enjoy it ) .

A non O eg retirement cannot be extended by 30 days.

The only extension option is 12 months that does not suit your requirements.

The Non O would provide a 90 day stamp then you could do a border bounce for a 60 day visa exempt entry

Should the VE revert to 30 days before your planned arrival, then a Non Imm 0 (90 days) + border hop and VE entry (30 days) + 30 day extension.
