During a lively Lamyai Haithongkham concert at Sanam Luang, a 70-year-old woman found herself unexpectedly at the centre of an online debate. As she enjoyed the event, her request to briefly sit down due to leg pain led to a confrontation with security. Captured by TikTok user @mamprapa, the incident on April 15 has stirred discussions across social media platforms.

In the widely-shared video, the elderly woman, armed with a walking stick, was seen dancing enthusiastically near the stage, embodying the festive spirit of Songkran. The accompanying caption highlighted her passion: “This 70-year-old is still dancing and enjoying the festival. She came alone to see Lamyai. Seeing her dance, we invited her to join us, and she brought her walking stick along.”

However, as the concert progressed, leg pain crept in. The woman attempted to find a spot to sit and was greeted by a surprising comment from security: “If you can’t stand, just go back.” A young attendee quickly intervened, reassuring the woman that she could rest without issue, defusing the situation.

The TikTok post sparked significant online reactions, drawing numerous comments about security personnel’s conduct at events. While several shared negative experiences, others noted encounters with considerate security staff. The netizens particularly praised the TikTok user for their compassionate intervention and support of the elderly concertgoer.

This incident serves as a poignant reminder of the need for empathy and understanding, especially towards older individuals in public settings, reported The Thaiger.
