Karaoke Bar Worker Discards Newborn’s Body in Bin

A distressing discovery marred the Songkran holiday in Chonburi province, after the body of a newborn baby was found dumped in a rubbish bin. Police were alerted to the incident at around 19:00 on the evening of 16 April, when residents reported the presence of a black bin bag containing a lifeless infant outside Soi Khao Makok 6 near Wat Chak Nok, Huai Yai subdistrict, Bang Lamung district.

 

Responding to the call, Pol. Lt. Mintharat Thongsai of the Huai Yai Police Station arrived at the scene with investigators and rescue personnel from Sawang Boriboon Foundation. A crowd had already gathered at the location, visibly shaken by the grim sight.

 

 

The deceased infant, a baby boy with the umbilical cord still attached, was found wrapped in a grey-and-white striped shirt inside a black rubbish bag. The bag also contained general waste. A blood-stained sanitary pad was discovered beside the bin. Authorities believe the child had been born and died within the past 12 hours. The body was intact and showed no signs of external trauma.

 

Local resident Mr Non 43, recounted that a scrap collector had discovered the body and shouted, “There’s a baby in the bin!” Mr Non rushed over and was horrified by the discovery, immediately alerting the police.

 

At 20:00, while officers were collecting evidence, residents led them to a suspicious individual staying in a row of rooms behind a nearby snooker hall, just 50 metres from the scene. There, they found a young woman who appeared visibly alarmed upon seeing the police.

 

The woman, later identified as Ms Ros 24, from Nakhon Ratchasima province, admitted she had only recently begun working as a karaoke hostess in the area. She claimed she had no idea she was pregnant, citing daily alcohol consumption as a reason for not noticing any symptoms. 

 

According to her account, she experienced severe abdominal pain around 07:00 that morning, went to the toilet, and unexpectedly gave birth. The baby was not breathing, she said, and she panicked, not knowing what to do. She insisted she had never attended prenatal care and had not realised she was expecting. Ms Ros also revealed she has a four-year-old child.

 

Authorities took her into custody for questioning at Huai Yai Police Station and transferred her to a hospital for further medical examination.

 

CCTV footage obtained by reporters later showed Ms Ros carrying a bag towards the bin at 09:37 that morning. The footage captures her placing the bag containing the newborn, into the bin before hastily walking away.

I have heard it happen that there are a few women who never knew they were pregnant in the past. But I have my doubts. Especially since she was with child previously. 

How can they not tell the bulging tummy? The menstruation stopping? The telltale signs of contractions.. Or the other symptoms of being pregnant. 

A shame the life was lost but i also seriously doubt she gave birth to a dead baby. This also causes severe problems if the baby dies prior to giving birth.

I noted you posted a topic about having no friends. 
Makes me wonder if your attitude is because of having no friends, or if your attitude is the reason you have no friends?

As the government and the woman PM can't do anything whithout asking daddy and I doubt he would spend money on unborn baies, leaving the mothers to sort it out rhemselves....

And just how would the government know that the lady was pregnant?

 

If the baby was born at her home, perhaps she had not seen a doctor and probably never been to a hospital or an antenatal clinic. If she had not told anybody that she was pregnant, how would anybody, least of all the government know?

 

But carry on bashing the Thai government as you usually do.

I've got feeling's you know,   and now you've hurt them. 

I didn't say no friends,  I said no family, they're all dead,  stiff as a board.

I have a couple of friends which is enough,  having too many friends just means  problems.
