I know he can get a motorcycle DL.

But is it limited to 110 cc, conflicting information on Internet

Yep, limited to 110cc until age 17.

My daughter had a Honda wave 110 for her 15th birthday.

Her school took the whole class down to get their D/Ls.

Full throttle everywhere she went, but survived and now drives a car.

At 15 he can ride a bike up to 110cc until he is 18 when he can ride unlimited cc's - all subject to passing a test. There was talk of a 'big bike' licence being introduced for over 400cc with, I think a 21 year old requirement but that seems to have been shelved.

Let not quibble over a year .......... but over 18 or in their 18th year?

They cannot legally ride a bike over 110cc until they reach 18 and pass a test.  I'm not sure if the test for bikes under 110cc counts or whether they have to take a new test.  Knowing Thailand, the previous test probably counts.

If someone is 18 then they are 18 , if they are over 18 then they are 19 or more !

The second one turns 18 he or she is 18. One second later he or she is over 18.  Rocket science it is not.

Me thinks you worry too much. IF... and I stress IF they got stopped by the police, they may have to pay a bribe. But if they are just going to school there is little chance of that happening.

If they are out joyriding without a helmet, they may get stopped to produce ID and may have to pay a bribe.  The police will most likely not bother the teen simply because the CC on the bike is 125.
