Bezalel Smotrich has been very clear about his view of how tris war in Gaza ends.

The complete destruction of Gaza and the displacement of the Palestinians.

Trump personal envoy Steve Witkoff had this to say:

“We want to bring the hostages home, but Israel is not willing to end the war. Israel is prolonging it.”

So perhaps Bezalel Smotrich is simply saying the quiet bit out loud, the objective is ethnic cleansing of Palestine and a land grab.

That is a quote that has not been verified from Steve Witkoff. This has however, you can listen to him say it:

Steve Witkoff personally thanked Prime Minister Netanyahu and said the hostage deal could not have happened without him.

“Mr. Prime Minister, I told Edan and his family everything you did to make this happen over the past few days. It was a tense negotiation, and your leadership — the way you allowed the process to move forward — was critical. That’s a big part of why Edan is home with his family today.”

The politicians can say whatever they want for public consumption. The fact is that much of Israel wants the war to end, It is  costing the economy dearly and the  reservists don't want to be there, They have families and jobs.  The only reason the war continues is because the Gazans are holding hostages. Israel would not be able to justify the continuing action domestically if the hostages were released. That's all that matters now.

By the way, he's a far right finance minister and it was an opinion. Also missed out this:

civilians moved to a "humanitarian zone"

Who is not far right in this cabinet?

Just the Finance Minister 555. Usually, the second most important Ministerial job in a government is followed by the Defense Minister. Would you say the Defense Minister is far right too?

This is about Smotrich's opinion not the defense minister

My point is they are all far right. It sounded like you were singling him out as being the minority.

"When asked to describe his idea of an Israeli victory, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said he envisions Gaza being "completely destroyed" and its residents displaced.".

Does the fool seriously believe this will end Israel's problems, have the last 77 year not taught him anything?!

I suggest you read this about the finance minister and the defense minister -  how on earth can you say the latter  is not known as far right?

I suggest you read this about the finance minister and the defense minister

False, your link is not about the defense Minister.

Your link is a paywall but also irrelevant, the defense Minister is Israel Katz not the security minister, Itamar Ben-

Gvir referred to in your article..............:saai:

Is this the same Katz that threatened 'total devastation of Gaza'?
Is this the same katz that David Lammy condemned?

Finally the penny has dropped on who the defense minister is in this coalition gov, would you care to retract your previous false claims that your link was referring to the defense minister?

I think that's what most people want. Not just the Israelis but most Arabs too.

With the massive oil wealth and the amount of free space there is more than enough room and wealth for all the palestinians in the world; that's two and a quarter million people.

Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich will both be banned from entering the UK and will have any assets in the UK frozen as part of the measures announced by the foreign secretary.

David Lammy said Finance Minister Smotrich and National Security Minister Ben-Gvir had "incited extremist violence and serious abuses of Palestinian human rights".

Excellent news! Indeed Smotrich and Ben-Gvir did incite extremist violence.

Delightful news that they're now not able to travel freely and have their assets in the UK frozen.

"The UK has sanctioned two far-right Israeli ministers over "repeated incitements of violence against Palestinian communities" in the occupied West Bank"

Jeff : It wasn't Gaza , It was the West bank .

Gaza and the West Bank are two different places and locations

Gaza and the West Bank are not the same place

Smotrich planning to stop Palestinian and Israeli banks cooperation

The EU has urged Israel not to tear up a waiver that allows Israeli banks to work with Palestinian banks.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich plans to revoke the waiver, which could ruin Palestine’s financial infrastructure.

“The European Union is deeply concerned by the instruction by Israel’s finance minister Smotrich to cancel the waiver on cooperation with Palestinian banks, which could cut them off from the Israeli financial system, devastate an already crippled Palestinian economy, and may lead to the collapse of the Palestinian Authority,” EU spokesman Anouar El Anouni said.

An approach to protest by EU could be the closure of Israeli embassies and consulates, as well as suspending the operations of Israeli airline offices. These steps could serve as a diplomatic means of expressing concern.
