ETA - when is it happening?

so - is the ETA going to be introduced this June? The authorities seem to be keeping very quiet about this.

The ETA project has been abandoned and the DTAC has bee introduced instead.

Can't see any reference to the ETA there - can you quote the bit where it says it's been abandoned?

Thinking best to wait for any announcements when things actually happy .

Bit like the 300b entry tax.

Thought I might post as I just returned to Thailand after a two night stay in Vientiane, Laos. Let me state that everything was in order  … Marriage Extension good until next year, Re-Entry Permit purchased at Chiang Mai Immigration (with a reminder that my 90 Report would be from the date of re-entry.

 

OK. Ready to re-enter Thailand … not so fast. Your have to register via the app. Thankfully my Thai Wife was present. Back outside, a Thai Immigration Assistant opened the app, entered the info … Passport #, name, citizen of, traveling from where reason for visiting Thailand (Yo! I am a resident for 14 years as reflected in my Passport … right, jai yen, yen … city of birth, Passport issued where, expiration date, etc. OK, back to the Immigration Officer, digital  finger print and stamped in. Still a bit of a challenge to me … all information is already on file with Royal Thai Immigration … right, sabai, sabai!!!

And you were not aware of the TDAC commened on May 1.

You require a wife to fill in simple form (online) 

BTW: you are not a permanent resident.

Rather on annual extensions and you have a temporary permission of stay that you renew annually. 

In any event not what the OP is asking about.
