Mate lets me clarify my situation.

through my own stupidity I removed 50000 from the bank 2 month  after the renewal of the visa . That’s my problem . The money was put back 2 days after the withdrawal. don’t ask .

For the last 10 or 11 years there has always been over a million in the account . For the last 10 or 11 years I have been submitting my visa extension no worries .  I not really interested in applying for a different visa . I stuff up and I just want to know the process to applying for another retirement visa . The current visa still has 10days before expiry yes I do have an in/out permit .

Hope I was able to clarify that a little better this time . Thank you .

Personally, I would go to  the office and explain the situation.

I second that. There is no downside - worst case scenario is they tell you what you're already assuming.

One thing immigration are strict on is the financial compliance.

You could run your situation past an agent eg @ThaiVisaCentre.

I'm not suggesting agent on going however that is an option.

BTW: 10 days remaining is getting down to the wire to consult an agent but still possible.

Your plan of border bounce and transition to Non O will work.

Suggest you do that with minivan border run company.

Here is link to one.

Assume that you didn't have another account with 50k balance.

I also messed up start of current extension as tgf dipped it below by 1500b.

Mention this for others to be aware that you can use two bank accounts.

As discussed in the thread, we agree that the best approach is for you to first apply for the extension on your own and explain your situation.

If that doesn’t work, you can then look into getting further assistance.

I was once in a similar situation myself, and I would strongly recommend the OP to visit a visa-agent, and ask whether they could help solve the problem.

This will definitely incur a 'special administrative fee', if they can indeed help you !

  • Must meet ONE of these financial requirements:
    • A security deposit of 800,000 THB in a Thai bank account for 2 months prior to the visa application.
    • Monthly income of at least 65,000 THB.
    • Combination of security deposit and annual income totaling 800,000 THB.
  • Must provide the following documents for the above financial requirements:
    • In the case of the security deposit, you will provide an updated bank book or passbook together with a bank letter stating that the money had been deposited to the account from an overseas source not less than 2 months prior.
    • In the case of a monthly income of at least 65,000 THB, a letter from your embassy in Thailand verifying your monthly income.
    • In cases where your embassy does not issue an income letter, you can provide a 12-month bank statement showing a regular deposit of 65,000 THB into a Thai bank account.

Hi all,

1. Does monthly income of at least 65,000 THB have to be deposited into a Thai bank account?

2. If the answer to #1 is no, will interest income reflected on my US bank statements suffice?

3. Will US embassy be willing to issue an income letter?

4. I hear opening a Thai bank account could be challanging. If 65000 THB income option does not work out, how can open a bank account to deposit 800K THB?

Thanks.

Yes it does.

BTW: USA embassy does not providd income letter.

You would need to show 12 months of 65k + transfers.

Forget income method for first extension of Non O

No.

Why not obtain the Non O e-Visa in USA.

The 800k can be in foreign bank account.

With a Non O you will be able to open Thai bank account after you arrive.

When you enter Thailand with the Non O you will be stamped in for 90 day permission of stay.

After funds have been in Thai bank account you apply for 12 month extension.

Note: if your plan is to live ongoing in Thailand with annual extensions and you want to use income method then you would start the monthly transfers in addition to maintaining the money in bank financial requirements.

Then for next extension change to income.

Not sure I follow.

If the OP, made an error with financial compliance then immigration will not (generally) overlook that.

From OP first post......

"because of my own negligence, I miss calculated the amount of money I should kept in my account . Yep I know pretty stupid A"

Actually I'm in similar boat. Obtained last extension Nov and  said to Thai partner "all good for another year.

Next day she dipped the 800k under  by 1500.

Immigration are so strict on this.

No idea why when using the 800K in the bank funds method, it's not deposited in a 'Fixed Term' account, which doesn't have a debit card, and you cannot accidentally withdraw funds that would take you under the financial requirements.

Had a good friend drop his 800K to 400k 90 days after he'd gotten his extension, (thinking it was 90 days instead of 3 calendar months like it's written) and when he went for the year extension the following year the officer said, "9 months ago, you failed to meet the seasoning requirements (by TWO days) for the extension you're on now, so that means IF you go forward with your extension application today you will be found to be on overstay for 9 months, get arrested, deported and banned for 5 years (because you're caught on overstay)

She told him to bounce out/back get a new visa exempt entry stamp, then come back and apply for the 90 day Non-O and 2 months later a new year extension. He NEVER forgot the seasoning is 3 MONTHS after not 90 days 😛

Have used FD account previously.

Currently satisfying money in bank + income method with plan to change to income method next extension.

For that require savings account.

Why not obtain the Non O e-Visa in USA.

Thank you for the clarification. 800k deposit appears to be an easier route, since 65K income has to be transferred as well.

I'll be applying as a US citizen, and 800k will be wired from one of my US accounts. But do I have to apply for non-O from the US? I am enjoying my life slow-travelling in SEA and didn't have any plans to go back to the US anytime soon. Maybe Laos or any other neigboring country work?

Is there an official website that outlines latest and greatest non-O requirements and procedures?

You can obtain Non O at most embassies/consulates.

Current thread running of Non O e-Visa obtained in Vientiane.

Sounds to good to be true.

Extremely quick approval.

One slight negative is you do not pay online.

You pay at the consulate.
