So, now we come to that point. You turn as the wind blows, and then you are naming that descent salary. Ok, that stands for you.

You misunderstand me... I have written many times already that the daily wages system should be abolished and that everybody has to a get a monthly salary of at least 13k a month with 6 days working from max 9 hours a day...THat means everybody earns about 500 THB a day.. and holidays are being paid too. But this is a few steps too far for Thailand..It would improve life and economy .. In the Western world they have done the same many decades ago, so it is possible to do it in Thailand too

A lot more understand that having savings gets you nothing extra.

In the UK, you need to save 250,000GBP in a pension fund before you get any net gain in retirement.

(the first 250kGBP of pension savings just reduces your benefits)

Not to mention as a married/cohabiting guy, you'll lose half of anything you saved in the divorce/separation.

In some ways it's just better to spend everything you manage to earn and borrow on unsecured credit (free money). So I sort of agree with the Thais.

If someone saves money their pension is reduced?  This is not sound policy.

Not sure about "anymore".......Has it not always been this way?

Unfortunately nothing seems to have changed in that regard certainly for the last 15 years.

EAST European describing communist Poland ....at the time of the loans life was very good ....but when  pay back time  came along ......

They had to blame it on someone who is not Thai...

They cancelled it after their recent municipality election win.

So looks like it is the intended move in the first place.

He is referring to extra benefits which may be due. These may be limited dependent on savings you have. The pension itself is not reduced.

Not specifically linked to "pensions" in general.

However if you can save 250k why do you need benefits........
