A full lockdown of the entire country would be much better.   Hashtag lockdown Thailand now.

The vaccine gives protection having a severe outcome (death)

What a miserable country Thailand has become - everywhere you go, you see frightened and miserable-looking people in muzzles. It is pathetic and makes a mockery of their whole Land of Smiles schtick. So glad I don't live there anymore. Majority of Thais are brainwashed cowards.

Probably 99.99 % vaxxed. Every week someone die in a village next to you.

  • Popular Post

The data I would like to see is what percentage of people are seriously sick and dying after being vaxxed, and how many unvaxxed people are in the same boat.

By seriously seek, I mean those needing admission to an ICU.

That's preferable to all the opinions and insults being posted on this thread. Sound and fury, signifying nothing.

No mention of how many have died at least in Europe they used to announce the number of daily deaths somehow Thailand avoids this WHY  ! Maybe the time has come for the government to announce a complete lockdown before the numbers get out of hand Thailand managed to escape relatively easy from the last Covid but this time could be far far worse !

Symptoms akin to the common cold don't usually necessitate going to hospital.

Covid symptoms are not akin to the common cold - I know having experienced both.

I agree not usually necessary to go to hospital with Covid unless in vulnerable group or experiencing very unusual/severe symptoms.

Vaccine will not work if previously unknowingly infected.

Vaccine does not necessarily prevent Covid, it reduces the symptoms.

It is this time of the year again - absolutely remarkable, how easy it is to fan some big smoke into the Thai crowd again. Have it your way and be my guest; as a hint you might want to introduce a vaccinationer's loyalty card like bonus points at Big C, Lotus's etc.

Some of my friends [mostly Thai] have Covid  NON of them have visited a Hospital just used a home tester + all have been vaccinated and boosters  ... does not appear the vaccine work as some have had Covid 2 or 3 times before + after the Vaccine

As for Masks I always put on then going out, never stopped wearing just automatic after so many years..  I cannot have Vaccines, so try to protect myself  best I can.

Last visit to Makro appeared all the Staff + me had masks,  last night visited Makro again there were a good many shoppers with masks on.

Let me guess cloth masks (entirely pointless but the main used ones in Thailand) or surgical masks (mildly helpful if you have Covid in reducing particle spread if worn properly and changed every couple of hours, entirely pointless otherwise or if wet).

The only ones with any real benefit for those healthy are properly fitted (no beard, no gaps) N95 masks which are uncomfortable when worn properly, even moreso in hot weather).

So which ones they wearing at Makro because 99% of mask usage in Thailand is entirely or largely pointless?

They can be for many. At worst they are like a bad flu these days as you’d expect of a virus that is endemic.

Unless you are very old or infirm it’s not likely to do much to you beyond 3-6 days of feeling crap. In that sense it’s exactly like proper flu.

Worth noting that we rarely get stories about flu. It should increasingly be the same for Covid. But for reasons that aren’t clear there seems this need to whip out these stories every 6 months or so.

I agree - Out of curiosity, did you return to your home country or relocate to a neighboring one?

Did you take the PCR test?

you forgot to mention that even with those N95 masks. They do not prevent you getting Covid. Covid can be transmitted by contact as well. Wearing the masks do not protect anything. Except maybe in your own head. If someone chooses not to wear masks. You have the same chances of getting Covid. Even if you wear your mask always.

What is missing in this article as well as that other from a week ago , is WHERE are the new covid cases ?

Is it in Bangkok , or the tourist hot spots or in Nakhon Nowhere ?

No, the virus would not go into tourist's hot spots. 😂😂😂

Totally agree. Zero critical thinking in place. I laugh now when I walk past a masked zombie. I also ask people why they're wearing them. It's just stupid.

You don't need a mask. An Alu-hat will do😂

To a Thai, no amount of mask wearing is uncomfortable. I observed double masked Thais wear their muzzles in 40 degree Celcius heat at the Chinese-Lao border in mid 2023 when barely anyone else around them was wearing one and Chinese immigration staff, still required to wear a surgical mask at the time, had to lift theirs up every 2 minutes to get some air.

The 10 Thais I saw didn't even flinch. They're successfully indoctrinated.

Still liking those odds.

No, just the antigen test.

It really isn't, at least in many cases.I'm not in a vulnerable group and only felt ill for a couple of days though a cough persisted for a week. But it was very obvious during the crap couple of days that this was something very different from the flu.

We've left fah talai Jon growing like a weed in a part of the garden in case Covid returns. It's very effective if you get Covid. We've never been infected,  but neighbours used to come for some when they got Covid. Within 3 days they were well again.

Careful!! Some bright brains in government might think thats a good idea!!😂😂😆

More panic headlines I see. Just like last time.

Look, covid isn't going away. It's real. But at this point, you should treat it like the flu. Take it seriously, and if you get it, go to the doctor and get some medicine.

Unfortunately, the Thai media lives on scare headlines.

On my last three trips to Thailand I caught Covid every time! 🤒

Although I have been vaccinated 7 times, it didn´t help me much this year as I was bedridden for 4 weeks in Pattaya

with constant fever, extreme fatigue and with dry mouth and throat I lost my taste as well!

It developed into a dry cough that I still have today 2 months later!

Last year I was only sick for 4-5 weeks, but this year much more severe!?

My guess is it´s a new strain more potent and resistent against vaccinations!?

The more we vaccinate the more new strains will arrive.  Viruses are pretty cunning!
