If that's the best you can come up with Thailand is pretty great.

Taxi mafia!!!! Only in 1% of the country.

Dual pricing. Only on 1% of the average persons spend.

Beer price ridiculous? Not compared to most western countries.

Smell? Learn to love durian and the streets smell like an orchard 🤣

Hospitals still cheaper than the west by far.

Soi dogs. You have a point

But I'd happily put up with all that in exchange for not paying council/property tax.

Man, you're pretty far gone if you think shît smells like roses. But hey, whatever gets you through the day.

Compared to all the costs in the west.

WTH are you rambling about.....  Driving in the west (for me, the USA), i feel much safer than anytime driving in Thailand....... Just think if Thailand had ice and snow..........

Cost of living about one-quarter of that in Australia.

My GF will take care of me until I cark it. In Oz, any woman would be lining up a lawyer to milk me.

Except for what my boy's education costs, I think I could live as cheap in the US as I do here, and I could do a little consulting as well if I wanted to.

The ease of transferring money between different banks at ATMs and via Apps (eg. from SCB account to Kasikorn account). Also the ease to pay utility bills via the banking apps.

Thailand is only cheap if you live in the bush and eat bugs and grubs. If you want a proper lifestyle it costs a lot of money. Probably not equal to Australian costs because accommodation costs are out of control there, but pretty close.

But hey, if you're like Sparktrader/Susan and think that 60 baht noodles are haute cuisine then have at it.

At least as easy in the US

At this point only one person has mentioned food and although is the first thing he had written it was just the one word - food. No acalaydes.

This confirms to me once again that 99% of the foreigners don't like and don't eat Thai food.

Thai curries 60 to 130 baht. 70% cheaper than the west. Pork steak 70 baht. You seem clueless.

The vast amounts of cheap, delicious food everywhere at every hour. Cheap vegetables and basically free chicken and pork.

Fruit this year is practically free. I'm constantly given extras and free bags of mangoes

No need for automobile or bike. Not owned 20+ years. Think of the money saved. All the hassles... repair, inspection, insurance, accidents, traffic, depreciation...

Living on the Blue Line and access to markets, grocery, malls, food courts

All the pretty women and girlies all about BKK.

Cheap rent, electric, free water

Weather in cool season. September October evenings

People are stressed, but still way better than States. Nice people even for big city BKK

Cheap houseplants

Cheap camping holidays in paradise

Get things fixed fast and cheap.

Sometimes government things get done fast, no waiting.

Many things can get done fast here even on the spot

Medicine prices and ease to obtain.

When it goes right... trip to hospital inexpensive and resolve questions

Clinics. Full blood, urine workups even a few tumor marker for b1300

I don't travel like I used to, but central located SEA, accessible to Japan, India, Europe, remote Indonesia.

I don't smoke much, really any weed but it's nice it's not illegal. Stops all the scammy cops thong lor.

My lovely wife. 15 years not one problem from that woman. Always cheery, pleasant disposition. ❤️

Finally, I used to work at some of best schools in Bangkok. I miss those kids very much. 😭

Time goes double speed here compared to back home, that shows it's good. If someone isn't happy just change the parts you don't like, even health you can work on that

Does it?

@BritManToo

In a country with such income disparity, of course.   if said fat, ugly POS qualifies for a -0- visa for retirement, then that's a millionaire, almost, in a 3rd world country.  Some, many obviously, will accept that tub of sh!t for obvious gain, and may even last a long time, or what little time they have left.

Even better, get a Yank, and have a baby ... steady income for about 20 years 👍👍

   Not everyone likes prostitutes .

People often use prostitutes because they have no other choice

Well Im fat, ugly, 70, fart a lot, smoke a lot of weed, go days without wearing more than a pair of gym shorts, love my bachelor life, did I say smoke a lot of weed, and  I gag at the thought of some droopy boobed cottage cheesed old lady showing me that floppy, wrinkled liver coloured OMG....choke gag spew.....

Yet with all that I can still maintain a vigorous erection and as sexual activity is good exercise as well as useful for prostate health I have no problem admitting that a 37 kilo bar girl is snoozing in my bed right now, snoring and running the AC. Shes not a prostitute, shes a pretty, uneducated village girl (you know, one of those villages on a dirt road with tin roof shacks and no flush toilets) appreciates the cash gifts she gets to help support her family.

We all cant be studs like you boss, change your avatar to Tom Cruise?

Why cant you do that back in your own Country ?

I can and did.  Always a gap in age of my relationships.  One was 19 and I was 38, and largest gap in USA.  Another was 18 when I was 28, only 10 year gap, but at those ages, seemed like a lot.  She couldn't drink alcohol at restaurant, when first together.  She was one of my life long 'friends' with bennies', over 25+ years.

Same with my first wife, 17 and me 23, (her father had issue with the age gap) married at 19 & 25, and drinking age was 21 :cheesy:

Always about a 10 year gap in my relationships..   First Thai wife was half my age, 22 / 45, present wife is 22 yrs younger, 48 / 70.  I could easily see myself with  Yank partner 20 yrs younger than myself.

In USA, never started dating anyone older than 30, and I left there at 45 yrs old.  Getting the sense, that most AN members don't know how to 'listen' and talk with women 😎

And you are somewhat presentable. Look at me. A cashier in Asia Market told me I am a "scary looking barang"

I was just quoted $250 a month insurance on a used G wagon. 6 months of just insurance is more than all my transit costs in Thailand and Cambodia for a year. I can fly to BKK for $100.

One of my kin is paying $500 a month on a 911. Its insane.
