So.. long story semi short -

I am married to a Thai national and here on a 60 day tourist stamp that expires on June 20th/2025

I was told that there isn't enough time to apply for the Non 0 90 day before my stamp expires so i should do the 60 day marriage extension first. This would be great but my wife is traveling for work and it appears she is required for the extension and will not be back in time. (I have never applied for the non o before)

I did speak to a visa agency in BKK that say they could get my Non o done in time before my June 20th date but the price was a little crazy at 25k Baht

I'm just looking for some advice. Is my best option to just go to Lao and apply for the non O from there? It looks like all the application process is now done from online and the website says 10-15 days processing time? Has anyone had that experience?

Thanks for any information that may be provided.

The 60 day is not possible based on the the time remaining.

So your permission of stay expires June 20.

You could buy a 30 day extension.

Still would be tight depending on her return date.

Most immigration offices require 15 remaining to apply for Non Of.

Some eg CW require 21.

Plan B is go do border bounce for anther 60 days. Best safe option.

Where are you located

Yeah, working around her time frames are hard, she an engineer and travels a lot to jobsites that sometimes take longer than expected.

My only concern with a border bounce is that -

The past 2 years in Thailand i was on an ED visa. April 20th 2025 i came back in the country (not on the student visa anymore) And the officer at the airport was very upset i was on a student visa for 2 years. I'm not sure if he thought i was trying to come back in on it again or if he was just having a bad day but he said don't do it again and here is a 60 day stamp, get the right visa. So i fear a little bit leaving again and trying to come back in on another 60 day. That's why i was trying to extend it here or just go apply for the non O outside of TH. Trying to limit my risk of any other issues that may arise.

Another option is to spend couple of days Laos  and apply for Non O marriage e-Visa at eg Vientiane.

Recent thread guy got the eVisa basically overnight.

Saves messing about with Thai immigration office for the Non O

Edit: from your other threads did you just recently. If so then another good reason to obtain the Non O outside of Thailand.

Seems you live in Bangkok.

You have option of fly to u don't thani for eVisa Vientiane OR

Border bounce from Bangkok to Cambodia using minivan agent company.

The agent will advise you of any concerns re border bounce

Yeah that might be the best bet, thanks for the info.

I contacted these guys a little while ago https://www.meesuktravel.com/ who were recommended for a few friends who used them.
They seem to require 40k baht for 3 months into the bank account even for a Non imm o spouse visa application for whatever reason so i dropped that idea since i wasn't prepared 3 months ago.

I think i will just do the border bounce then apply for it from here it BKK.

I'm located in Bangkok. The trip to Vientiane would be pretty easy.

You could do a mini-van border bounce with an agency. Leave around 4AM and return before dinner. Around 4000 baht I believe and they'll make sure you don't have any problems getting out and back in.

Yeah i think that's what i will do.

Any thoughts on applying for the non O from here in Bangkok vs doing it in Lao? Benefits for one or the other?

The Thai Evisa website says 40k a month OR 400k on a bank statement.
The 2 visa agencies i spoke with said it HAS to be the 40k a month for 3 months for them do accept it which i thought was strange?

I just recently put the 400k in my Thai bank, May 5th

When did you marry?

Think I recall another of your threads.

Personally I would obtain the Non O e-Visa in Vientiane given wife's work travel requirements.

Yes i did have another thread.

My only concern was that the Thai Evisa website is saying the requirements are one thing and a Visa agent is saying another. I hate to go up there and apply for it to be denied because the website was wrong.

I do have 400k in my Thai bank but only since May 5th
The visa agent said you MUST have 40k + in the bank for at least 3 months. (Which i have not had)

This is a copy paste from the actual Thai Evisa application website,
4 . Financial evidence showing monthly income of no less than 40,000 THB or having the current balance of 400,000 THB (e.g., bank statements for the last three months, sponsor letter)

Check out this very recent experience of non O eVisa Vientiane.

Edit: you could contact @Wongkitlo for specific advice.
