A 25-year-old man has died following a motorcycle incident after crashing into a U-turn bridge barrier in Chonburi. The young man’s body was later found on the road below the bridge, hours after his distraught wife posted a photograph of him with their young daughter in an emotional online appeal to help locate him.

Police from Mueang Chonburi Station, led by Pol Lt Col Chinawat Thisala, were called to the scene on Sukhumvit Road, inbound towards Bangkok, in the Khlong Tamru subdistrict. Medical staff from Chonburi Hospital and rescue workers from the Thammaratsami Maneerat Foundation responded to the incident.

The deceased, identified as Mr Amnuay, a resident of Khok Samrong District in Lopburi, was found on the road beneath the bridge with severe head injuries and a fractured neck. In his shoulder bag, officers discovered a replica handgun. His black-and-red Honda CPX motorcycle, registered in Saraburi, was found overturned on the bridge, with signs of scraping along the concrete barrier, indicating a high-impact collision.

Witnesses reported seeing the motorcyclist strike a traffic cone just before ascending the bridge, before losing control and slamming into the side barrier. The force of the crash hurled him off the bridge onto the road below.

During the police response, the victim’s wife contacted authorities seeking information. Overcome with emotion, she broke down in tears upon learning the news. Earlier, she had posted a photograph of her husband lovingly holding their daughter in a Facebook group, pleading for help in finding him after he failed to return home and she had no explanation to why he was missing.

Authorities have since transported the body to Chonburi Hospital for formal procedures. Investigations into the crash are ongoing and arrangements are being made for the family to reclaim the body for religious rites.
