Who cars about SS 7162 form ...

... SS DD in BBL, right on time, and that's all that matters :coffee1:

You will not get anything if you can't file the form.

I can mail a form in, as many as I want, any time I want.  The silliness of 'OMG, where's the form at', is a bit comical.   Geez, just download one & mail it.

It's not even late, and if it never arrives ... OMG, what do I do :cheesy:

I could just change me address to USA, an never think about the form again 😎

It's the fact that the Wilkes-Barr PO sits on it.  Tell me that's not pre-arranged between SSA and USPS.

Or on order of DeJoy.

The form  is late compared to previous years but you are right, we have not passed the date line. Since no one has received the form, we should keep calm and see what happens next, don't worry, we are in this together.

Funny, social security is right on the ball sending me a deceptive POLITICAL PROPAGANDA email today (and I assume everyone else) about the so called big beautiful bill but can't manage to send out these critical forms in a timely manner. I agree -- they will probably come this month, but the last thing I want from a government agency is to be assaulted with partisan political propaganda.

In 2022 first arrived July 8.

But yes, normally mid-June-ish.

I didn't look at posts for previous years.

From reading all you posts, I think you are getting very close to winning a free trip to El Salvador.

Just joking...

Remove 'govt agency', and now you know how we feel ... :cheesy:

I didn't receive anything, but pretty sure I'm not on any govt mailing list.  The less contact with any govt, the better.

Of course not but it's a large sample and we would know by now if anyone in Thailand got the form yet.

"......if anyone in Thailand.... "

...but it appears you seem to think so

Just an FYI....  I used to get emails from SS (often) but I chose a selection which only sends me an email notification when there's a new message in 'my Social Security' Message Center.  I got no email today. The last email I received was in May 2024 telling me that there's a new statement for review in my Social Security'.........  prior to that there was an email in Oct '24 talking about the upcoming COLA (which occurred for 2025).

The tax benefit phase out for those with income over $75000 ,it expires on 2028 and only for those over 65.

(info from The Daily Beast)

Do people over 65, really need a tax benefit if earning $75k.   Their house should be paid for, no kids at home.

I never had a salaried job over $50k, and people working that same job now, aren't making $60k a year.  Having mortgage / rent payments and possibly kids at home.

The Daily Beast: Under the megabill, seniors get an additional deduction of $6,000 off their taxes ($12,000 for couples). But that deduction begins phasing out for those who earn more than $75,000 ($150,000 for couples) and disappears entirely for those earning more than $175,000 ($250,000 for couples). The tax break also expires at the end of Trump’s term in 2028.

Many seniors with low income would not benefit from the additional deduction, according to the Bipartisan Policy Center, which also raised concerns about “intergenerational fairness, since it would provide a tax benefit to those over the age of 65 that is not available to younger taxpayers with identical incomes.”

A similar analysis by the Tax Foundation found that the additional deduction would mostly benefit those with higher incomes.

The main lie there was that a large percentage of SS recipients ALREADY pay no tax because of low income.

So the sleazeball liar in chief is trying to take credit for something low income people already experience.

Low income recipients  with SS benefit  below standard deduction pay no tax anyway. Those who need it most  are not getting any help.

Yep. Remember the Covid stimulus checks he insisted go out with his name on them? Every lowlife move possible.

Unpopular opinion, but I do not believe they are “on their way”.  If that was the case, someone has gone into the system for the first time in the last 10 years (since I’ve been getting them), and has changed the date on the form from June 1 to a later date for them to be generated and sent.  Why would they do that?

Regarding work around, I’ve heard so many stories of them not accepting the form unless it has the preprinted bar code etc etc.

What do you guys think about someone actually anonymously calling SSA in Baltimore and asking a representative what is going on?  I haven’t had experience ever calling them.

Please - no hate.  We are in this together.

Impossible to know.

Perhaps the Doge big balls boys fired the grey hair that made this happen.

Doubtful that the well being of Americans out of sight out of mind is any kind of priority to maga.
