I just read this statement: 'You have to use Bangkok Bank for proof of funds.' Surely this can't be true.I thought any Thai Bank could be used . Has anyone recently extended their visa with another bank account that is not Bangkok Bank?

Some "agent" insist on Bangkok Bank?

So many use Kasikorn or other banks.

I read in on OUR PAI FAMILY. I thought it couldn't be true. Everybody here in Pai who used the Bangkok Bank is looking for another bank because they are closing their branch down and moving all accounts to Mae Hong Son

As long as it's a thai bank account in your name only you can use it to bank the 400K baht.

I agree with KhunBENQ That totally sounds like something on an agent website

It's not true. 

As some have posted.. most likely statement from an agent. 

However that's strange as agents generally do not deal with extension marriage. 

It's just a misunderstanding. 

Are you doing the extensions yourself meeting the financial requirements.

Yes, I have been doing them myself for 17 years. The extension is not due until December, and with the

Bangkok Branch closing down where I live, at the end of the month, I am moving my funds to KrungThai Bank and was confused when I read this statement.
