A Thai man is urgently seeking justice after being assaulted at a barbecue restaurant in Bangkok under baffling circumstances. The incident, which has sparked widespread outrage, occurred last Sunday when the victim, while dining with a friend, remarked on the unusually quiet restaurant.

The simple comment—“Why are there not many people today?”—was seemingly misinterpreted by two nearby diners. The men, believed to be intoxicated, perceived the innocent observation as a personal affront. One of them aggressively questioned the victim, suggesting he had been insulted: “Am I a human? Do you see me as a dog, huh?”

Caught off guard by the unexpected confrontation, the victim quickly apologised, insisting no offence was intended. Despite his placating efforts, the two men launched a violent attack, dragging him outside before physically assaulting him.

CCTV footage from the restaurant captured the entirety of the incident, confirming the victim's peaceful behaviour prior to the assault. The footage also showed a man in a red shirt, thought to be the restaurant owner, intervening and separating the attackers from the dazed victim.

Eyewitnesses, including restaurant staff, have corroborated the victim's account, asserting that he had not directed any remarks towards the aggressors. The attack left him with a head injury, raising concerns about his safety and prompting his family to seek justice.

In the aftermath, Thai social media erupted in condemnation. Many users expressed bewilderment at the attackers’ actions, with some speculating they were attempting to create chaos to evade paying their bill. Others criticised the assailants’ behaviour as inhumane and unjustifiable.

The victim's mother, distressed by the incident, reached out to the non-profit organisation Saimai Survive for assistance. Armed with CCTV evidence, they approached local authorities to demand swift action.

A formal complaint has been lodged with the Chorakhe Noi Police Station. Officials have assured the concerned family and the public of an expedited investigation, emphasising their commitment to bringing the perpetrators to justice.

The case continues to draw attention as it highlights broader issues of safety and justice in public spaces, leaving many hoping for a swift resolution that restores community confidence.

Great photo, you can almost see what's happening, why post something  that should be deleted?

I'm outraged over this attack.   I hope justice is served swiftly.

context.   no clue how he said it, what happened before, tone, history, anything....he definitely didn't say in a normal voice, "Not busy tonight."  So no idea.

Not sure what is circled in the photo, is it a bear on its hind legs or maybe a Sasquatch looking for food in the bins?

Should have told him the truth
