BOSTON − A federal judge on June 17 blocked the Trump administration from refusing to issue passports to transgender and nonbinary Americans nationwide that reflect their gender identities, after finding it was likely unconstitutional.  U.S. District Judge Julia Kobick in Boston issued a preliminary injunction that expanded an earlier order she issued in April that had stopped the U.S. State Department from enforcing the policy in the case of just six people.

Trump issued an executive order immediately upon taking office that the federal government must "recognize only two sexes, male and female," and that "these sexes are not changeable." The Department of State then stopped issuing passports in anything but the applicant's biological sex.

I agree with Trump on this.  The passport needs to match your real sex.

So you're against the constitution.

Unconstitutional? Did the writers of the Constitution say something like, "all men, even if they're women, are created equal?" I didn't think so. And no amendments to that effect either..... Where in the world is this judge coming from....?

Since you asked....

"On Tuesday, Kobick said the State Department’s policy “likely violates the constitutional rights of thousands of Americans.

She ordered a pause to the State Department’s enforcement of the policy for all transgender and nonbinary people who don’t hold a valid passport, those who have one that is set to expire in the next year, and those who need to change their passport so it aligns with their gender identity and name.

She said she was convinced that those groups “are likely to face significant hardships absent preliminary injunctive relief.”
