No toll card given entering 7 at 36 junction?

Has anybody else experienced this?

On Wednesday coming off the 36 to go to Pattaya on the 7 the toll booth attendant pointed to a printed sign in English tacked to the side of the booth - if he hadn't pointed at it I wouldn't have seen it - "Pay cash at exit" or similar.

So I rocked up at the first toll booth and handed my 10 baht over and the attendant there said nothing and I carried on towards Suk.

How did they know I came from where I did and supposing I went on to another exit off the new extension. Are they using some sort of APNR system similar to what they use for M Flow etc? This wasn't in place on Monday when I did a similar journey.

Does anybody know for sure?

Haha, these two toll guys have a scam going on! Did the barriers rise and fall?

Which 2? The one at the entrance booth would have no idea which booth and which exit you would exit through

Same thing happened again today but the operator at the Pattaya toll booth had an issue with the system so took a good few minutes before the barrier was raised. Looking back I could see a picture of the front of my vehicle but not sure if that was from where I was or the entry toll booth......

I presume it is some sort of test as they are still giving out cards going the other way.
