These regulations are set to be enforced immediately after publication in the Royal Gazette, marking a significant shift in the management of cannabis sales and use in the country.

Like all new markets there has been an over saturation of outlets, everybody and his mother seems to have opened a shop, this will change

 

fewer outlets, better quality control will not destroy the market, it will just bring it in line with normal commercial enterprises

I want to say, I said so back then when everyone thought cannabis was legalized, but talking to death ears.

 

The rules was clear, but over night everyone thought recreational use and sale was legal, which it was not.

 

Still some claim it was, and those who invested heavily in the business, acts like they are the victims.

 

For the users, this will still not change anything as long they stay out of public.

The Straits Times reported that all shops will now be required to have a doctor on premise at all times. Seems like a lot of overhead unless of course all they are their to do is write prescriptions for anyone look to buy bud. One thing is likely, this whole reversal is going to create as mush chaos as the original decriminalization

For all those feeling sorry for shop owners etc...

Their own stupid fault...it was only decriminalised for medicinal purposes...I do not feel sorry for them. Or anyone who took advantage of it.

I think its somewhat pointless arguing over something that may or not have been the "intention"  some 3 years ago. If it’s for medical use, and need an dr present for sales, wouldn’t it be more natural the existing legal pharmacies takes over the distribution ?

           it doesn't,   seems like the restrictions are aimed at the sellers rather than the buyers, the prohibition of online sales will inconvenience many and could see the end of the 1b / gram offerings,,  it would also appear that the amount required for 30 days of treatment will be decided by the medic so presumably on a case by case basis as opposed to a fixed amount of 30g which somebody had suggested might be the case but...

            I successfully ordered some from my usual supplier on "line" half an hour ago so it remains to be seen what will happen

     I love the bit about being able to smoke in a shop when a doctor or dentist or herbal practitioner is present, what sort of an idiot dreamed that up,

If you actually read what was written in the royal gazette announcement that a member has already uploaded here, you would see that it is not a requirement to have a Dr present for sales , only if people are smoking on the premises

It's sort of odd, as the government doesn't appear to be currently sitting.

So they're currently issuing laws without the backing of parliament.

And when they do return on 3rd July, they are facing a no confidence vote called by BJT.

 

Anyways, my supplier has hired a doctor, prescription included with every order, no extra charge.

 

I think they were doing the same in the USA, buy in the shop, video call with doctor (in India) on shop tablet, prescription issued with no extra charge, all done while you wait.

Thailand will get a big time super bad press attention from this if it happens, that is guaranteed. Like the last nail in the coffin if they make this move.
