Ah well; it was good while it lasted.

All part of the plan...

Eventually, they'll require tax stamps on all weed sales and only the powerful families will qualify to buy those stamps.  So they'll make all the money, like they do on smokes and beer.

Everyone else in the supply chain will just scrape by.  If they're lucky.

The "Medicinal" excuse  for cannabis unregulated sales and the (really tedious) "eff you, i do what i want, if you dont like it stop breathing" irresponsible public consumption that goes with it was/is getting very annoying. To stay polite.

Narcotics Control Board highlighted that cannabis users in Thailand more than doubled from 350,000 in 2019 to over 700,000 last year

These look like made-up numbers plucked from the air

I remember many years ago arriving in Amsterdam airport and being asked in a survey if I intended to use the red light district whilst there.

Obviously the majority of the passengers (only men were asked) said no

So if before it was legal they did a survey they would have got similarly pointless results

I call it the "anal extraction method".

It's sort of odd, as the government doesn't appear to be currently sitting.

So they're currently issuing laws without the backing of parliament.

And when they do return on 3rd July, they are facing a no confidence vote called by BJT.

Anyways, my supplier has hired a doctor, prescription included with every order, no extra charge.

I think they were doing the same in the USA, buy in the shop, video call with doctor (in India) on shop tablet, prescription issued with no extra charge, all done while you wait.

Are you referring to the notification that Fis 420 sent out last night? I was wondering what they meant. Sounds like what they did with online viagra in the UK  ( another drug that the media had a field day with so the authorities decided it needed to be "strictly supervised" but is now available over the counter lol

Although as selling via online platforms is also due to be outlawed I'm  wondering how FIS will continue. but fingers crossed they'll find a way

If there are too many shops then issue fewer licenses.

If public smoking annoys people enforce the no public cannabis smoking ban.

If too much ganja is being exported simply enforce the ban on exports, check luggage more carefully and raise the fines/penalties.

No responsible MD is going to write a script for something with a questionable provenance that results in the inhalation of combusted material.

But nowhere near as annoying as the anti weed stalwarts...

In the same way that no responsible MD would issue a medical cert for a driving licence without conducting a medical examination perhaps, or in the same way that Thaksin was confirmed to be in need of hospitalisation?

No shortage of dodgy docs here

Thailand will get a big time super bad press attention from this if it happens, that is guaranteed. Like the last nail in the coffin if they make this move.

How so? Why would a country seeking to tamper down abuse receive bad press? On the contrary, the changes should help. I can't speak to other locations, but in Hua Hin, some of the  shops are located in restaurant row and near high tourist traffic areas. The tourists are often elderly or young families and not interested in cannabis. The shop opposite my favourite tapas place attracts some really pathetic customers. They fire up in front of the shop sending their stinky smoke into the people trying to have dinner. Last time I was there, many people were complaining. Sometimes the cannabis users try to light up in the bars. They  are told not to, and then they have hissy fits.  There doesn't look like there was any planning for these shops.

If you can't even fill this questions in yourself that makes you as illogical as the Thai decision makers are. As well as clueless...

Anyone with the tiniest brains would understand that at the worst, for tourists and users causing most noise, they now buy illegally with police covering the seller. That improves nothing, it only makes it worse again, less safe, less controlled.

Then for flip flopping every rules and laws in the country, to deceive large foreign investors and i could write a book more. Just use the brains.

Out of curiosity I just went into a shop and asked the lady.  She said they cannot display any cannibis for sale.  But, if a person wants some she has it in cabinets behind the counter.

The trouble is...so many of these "broccoli" smokers absolutely take the mickey.

I don't care what people do...as long as it doesn't effect me.

The number of times I have seen (smelt) toe rags smoking in pubs,  restaurants and walking down the road is untrue.

Blame them.

From Candy Afterdark:

About the current cannabis situation:
    1.    You can still buy our products — our products are made from cannabis leaf.
    2.    If you want a patient card, search thai traditional clinic or “ขอใบผู้ป่วยกัญชา” or “คลินิกแพทย์แผนไทย,” or message us — we’re happy to help.

We know this situation feels unfair and strange, but it looks temporary.
Thank you for being with us — we’ll get through this together.

This is no surprise. Had they properly controlled the number of shops opening and enforced the laws regarding public smoking from the start, this might not have happened.

I still have no idea how most of these shops made any money as they were mainly devoid of customers.

Complain to the police. Consuming cannabis in public where it annoys others is against the law.

Smoking in cannabis shops is also illegal.

Complain to the restaurant owners who can enlist the help of the police. And they can ask Hua Hin government officials to stop issuing cannabis licenses in restaurant and bar areas.

Or just whine here, that'll help a lot.

i'm wondering if the carry and grow laws changed? it seems like they only changed the purchasing rules.

There are some really stitched up farangs in Thailand these days. Can't imagine sitting and having a friendly chat with any of them. Giving a thumbs down to someone simply because they are able to buy a personal quantity from a store to consume quietly in private just indicates how intolerant and narrow minded they are.

note the solitary thumbs down again!   I wonder who that tosser is, whoever it is must be pretty spineless

If there wasn't a problem with egoistic f... you smokers, it wouldn't had been any anti weed stalwarts whatever that is.

Especially when weed smokers can't take criticism seriously, or be able to be self critical about those who ruin the fun.

It is not the anti weed members here who is responsible for the Crack down on you guys. When you and those with you understand the simplicity, of who is responsible, the better for you.

Anyway, we told you so, but still do not get it do you? You attack the wrong pack.

How many thumbs down do you  got? I have  Given zero, and got 20, and you crying for negative responses for your rude responses? Good riddance 😁👏
