Authorities in Phang Nga were placed on high alert after a suspected explosive device was discovered on the evening of 26 June, near the perimeter fence of the provincial governor’s residence. Initial reports indicate that the device, disguised to resemble a rock, contained an operational explosive mechanism with a possible blast radius of up to 10 metres.
