Immigration American Man Arrested for 388-Day Overstay in Sri Sa Ket

On 27th June, Sri Sa Ket immigration authorities arrested 52-year-old American citizen Mitchell O'Brien Dinino, who was found residing at Kriskanya Resort in Phayu, Sri Sa Ket, overstaying his visa by 388 days.

 

The operation took place at 4:00 PM after the resort owner reported the suspiciously prolonged stay of the foreign guest.

 

Officials then verified the overstay through the immigration information and biometric systems.

Led by Pol Maj Gen Waris Sirip, Commander of Immigration Division 4, the operation involved Sri Sa Ket immigration police, Phayu Police Station, and related agencies.

 

This coordinated effort confirmed that Dinino had exceeded his permitted stay, leading to his arrest and handover to Phayu Police Station for legal action.

Pol Maj Gen Waris Sirip highlighted the ongoing focus on enforcing immigration laws under national directives to prevent issues such as overstays, illegal entry, and unauthorised work.

 

Emphasising a proactive approach, he called for strict checks on travellers and close collaboration with local authorities to protect the safety and security of both residents and tourists.

 

This arrest underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies to maintain order and uphold immigration regulations across the region.

If only some other countries I could mention would deal with undocumenteds in a similar way.

 

Well done to the woman for ratting him.  I wonder what he did to get this treatment though, maybe he wasn't paying his rent, maybe, well, maybe dozens of things.   Maybe there was a reward for the woman to do the ratting.
