The rules about cash on account for Non-O seem to be enforced more rigorously now. I heard of a rule new to me:

If you deposit  ฿800k and ask the bank to lock it to the account for 4 months the bank will issue a "letter for immigration" right away. Is this general practice or could it face some problems, asking for this?

I also learnt that K-bank issues letters after only having had the money for 2-3 days but a K-employee said immigration may ask questions about the origin of the money. Is this method likely to succeed?
