A woman who had been on the run for over 14 years in connection with an armed robbery has finally been apprehended by police in Pathum Thani province.

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), in coordination with the Highway Police Division, arrested 37-year-old Taweeporn on the roadside in Soi Ruamjai Pattana, Mueang District. She was wanted under an arrest warrant issued by the Thonburi Criminal Court on 26 April 2011 (warrant no. 279/2554) for the offence of “joint robbery using a vehicle.” She had failed to appear in court as required and had since vanished from the authorities’ radar.

The arrest follows a nationwide crackdown operation aimed at rounding up long-time fugitives. According to police, Taweeporn was involved in a 2010 robbery case in which a group of four suspects abducted and extorted money from a victim. Preliminary investigations revealed that she had previously been in a relationship with a man involved in illicit activities. After the relationship ended, she entered a new relationship with another man who falsely claimed to be a police officer.

Taweeporn allegedly disclosed details about her ex-partner’s illegal dealings to her new boyfriend, which led to a plot involving three other individuals to kidnap and rob the former associate in an attempt to extract money.

While her accomplices were arrested shortly after the crime, Taweeporn managed to evade capture for over a decade. Acting on intelligence and surveillance, officers eventually located a woman matching her description. Upon approach, the officers identified themselves, obtained consent to verify her identity and confirmed that she was indeed the fugitive in question.

Following her arrest, she was informed of the outstanding warrant and agreed to cooperate with the authorities. She was subsequently taken into custody and transferred to the Thonburi Criminal Court to face charges.
