Thailand's tourism sector is ramping up efforts to entice affluent Chinese travellers amidst fierce global competition. A striking new partnership between Siam Piwat Group, known for landmarks like Siam Paragon and ICONSIAM, and tech giant Huawei is set to redefine the Chinese tourist experience in Thailand.

The collaboration unveils the ONESIAM Global Visitor Card, a feature seamlessly integrated with Huawei’s HarmonyOS, which has over 400 million users in China. This initiative aims to deliver "experiences beyond expectations", aligning with Siam Piwat's growth strategy through innovative partnerships.

Amporn Chotiratchakul, Managing Director of Business Support at Siam Piwat, emphasised the significance of this collaboration, stating, "Our strategy is to grow sustainably and exceed expectations through both domestic and international partnerships."

The ONESIAM Global Visitor Card offers Huawei smartphone users a convenient sign-up process and grants them exclusive privileges from over 150 partner companies, including Thai Airways, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Kempinski Hotels, Merlin Entertainments, and Grab.

Zhao Ye, Head of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships, Asia Pacific at Huawei, highlighted the timeliness of the project. "Today's Chinese travellers seek convenience and unique experiences. Leveraging data and technology, we can significantly elevate their travel experience," said Zhao.

Beyond shopping benefits, the card provides travel insights, digital coupons, emergency help, and personalised promotions, akin to having a personal assistant ready at hand. To complement this, Huawei plans to roll out Quick App, Petal Ads, and Skytone, bolstering Siam Piwat’s reach to Chinese tourists.

Amporn expressed the partnership's goal to create "an ecosystem of shared success", supported by partners with a unified vision to deliver unparalleled experiences.

Endorsed by the Thai government, this initiative serves as a template for successful public-private collaboration. Thapanee Kiatpaiboon, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, lauded Siam Piwat for its innovative strategy, positioning it as a leader in attracting quality tourists and boosting Thailand's economy.

The ONESIAM Global Visitor Card promises to reshape the landscape for Chinese visitors, ensuring Thailand remains a top destination amid evolving traveller expectations. As the alliance between retail and technology grows, the Land of Smiles seeks to offer both unforgettable and seamless experiences.
