A 42-year-old man was burned to death after he veered off the road in his lorry and slammed into a power pole, sparking a fire that engulfed the vehicle.

The fatal crash occurred at around 11:00 on 6 Julyin Hua Sai District, Nakhon Si Thammarat province. The deceased, identified as Mr Surasak, had only been working for three days at a local building materials company when the incident happened.

Mr Surasak had been returning to the depot in an empty Isuzu six-wheel truck after learning that a sand pit in Cha-uat District, where he was due to collect a load, was closed for the day. While heading back to Hua Sai, the vehicle is believed to have lost control, crashing violently into a central reservation power pole. The impact caused the truck to overturn on its side and then ignited a fire that quickly consumed the front of the lorry.
