A married couple who worked together as rubber latex buyers were found dead in their home in what police believe was a murder-suicide following a domestic dispute.

Officers from Tamot Police Station were called to house number 270, Village 12, Tamot Subdistrict, Tamot District, Phatthalung Province, on the morning of 12 July after neighbours raised the alarm.

At the scene, police discovered the body of Mr Thanit Khukaew, 38, lying next to a bed with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Nearby was a .45 calibre handgun and two spent casings. His wife, Ms Supaporn Chuayrajkarn 44, was found dead near the bathroom with a gunshot wound to the head. Disturbingly, her head had been placed inside a laundry basket.

Relatives told investigators that the couple had been together for two years and worked side by side in the latex trade. They said the pair had no history of serious conflict, although Mr Thanit had been unwell and had not gone out to work for two days prior to the incident.

Initial police findings point to a possible argument that escalated into violence. Investigators suspect Mr Thanit shot his wife before turning the gun on himself. Forensic teams are now awaiting autopsy results and are conducting a thorough examination of the scene and firearm to determine the precise sequence of events.
