A 43-year-old woman is recovering in hospital after being brutally attacked and stabbed by her jealous partner in a moving car in Prachinburi province. The victim managed to escape the vehicle and seek help from local residents, leading to the eventual arrest of the suspect.

The shocking incident unfolded on the afternoon of 13 July when rescue teams from the Bu Phram Subdistrict Administrative Organisation responded to reports of a stabbing on Route 304 near the entrance to Verona at Na Di district. Upon arrival, they found Ms Prathana, a resident of Nakhon Ratchasima province, suffering from three stab wounds to her abdomen, a serious laceration above her left eyebrow and multiple bruises across her body. She was immediately rushed to Na Di Hospital for emergency treatment.

Nearby, authorities discovered an abandoned silver Toyota car bearing Bangkok registration plates. Initial investigations revealed that the attacker was the victim’s long-term partner, Mr Anon 38, who had driven to her home in Wang Nam Khiao district, Nakhon Ratchasima, in an attempt to reconcile after the breakdown of their relationship.

According to police, Mr Anon forcibly pulled Ms Prathana into his car and drove her towards his home in Na Di. However, a fierce argument erupted during the journey. The vehicle stopped in Ban Wang Hin Soi 2, where Mr Anon reportedly stabbed the victim multiple times in a fit of rage. He then continued driving until he encountered traffic congestion caused by roadworks.

Seizing the opportunity, the injured woman bravely opened the car door and fled, screaming for help. Fortunately, plainclothes police officers happened to be passing on a motorcycle and quickly intervened. Meanwhile, the suspect abandoned the car and escaped into nearby woodland.

Later that evening, officers from Wang Khon Daeng Police Station apprehended Mr Anon walking near the entrance of a military ranger camp in the area. He was taken into custody and admitted to stabbing his partner, citing relationship issues and frustration after she refused his pleas for reconciliation following nearly a decade together.

Mr Anon remains in police custody and is facing charges related to attempted murder and assault. Authorities have confirmed that he will be prosecuted according to the law.
