Twenty-five countries, including France, Belgium and the United Kingdom, issued a joint statement on Monday saying the war in Gaza "must end now" and Israel must comply with international law.

The foreign ministers representing the cosignatories said "the suffering of civilians in Gaza has reached new depths” and condemned “the drip feeding of aid and the inhumane killing of civilians, including children, seeking to meet their most basic needs of water and food."

"The Israeli government's aid delivery model is dangerous, fuels instability and deprives Gazans of human dignity," the statement said.

RUSSELS (Reuters) -Belgium's King Philippe described abuses in Gaza as a "disgrace to humanity" in a speech on the eve of Monday's national day, unusually direct remarks on international affairs from a monarch who traditionally avoids public politics.

"I add my voice to all those who denounce the serious humanitarian abuses in Gaza, where innocent people are dying of hunger and being killed by bombs while trapped in their enclaves," he said speaking at his palace in Brussels.

"The current situation has gone on for far too long. It is a disgrace to all of humanity. We support the call by the United Nations Secretary-General to immediately end this unbearable crisis."

Táiniste Simon Harris says he will talk to his colleagues about how to make a national day of protest for Gaza a reality.

He was responding to a letter written by a Mr. Michael Cush which was published in Thursdays Irish Times, and stated that the Irish government has been strong in its condemnation of Israel’s actions in Gaza, but that the government and the people of Ireland are growing frustrated as they feel ‘helpless’ to prevent the ongoing conflict.

Taking to Instagram today, Simon Harris said ‘The people of Ireland stand with the people of Palestine. We stand for human rights, for international law, for a two state solution, for aid to flow, for hostages to be released. We stand for peace. We stand for an end to genocide’.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) has once again spoken by phone with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and urged the Israeli leader to do whatever he can to alleviate the terrible humanitarian situation in Gaza.

"The chancellor expressed his deep concern about the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza. He called on Prime Minister Netanyahu to do everything in his power to immediately achieve a ceasefire," government spokesman Stefan Kornelius said on Sunday.

"The measures announced by the Israeli government must now be followed swiftly by substantial further steps," the statement from Berlin said.

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) -The Dutch government will summon Israel's ambassador to the Netherlands to denounce the "unbearable and indefensible" situation in Gaza and it has imposed travel bans on two far-right Israeli cabinet ministers, the government said in a letter published late on Monday.

Israeli government ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich will no longer be allowed to enter the Netherlands, which accuses them of repeatedly inciting violence against Palestinians and calling for an "ethnic cleansing" of the Gaza strip.

The Dutch decision follows similar moves last month by Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Norway.

Slovenia imposes arms embargo on Israel

ATHENS (Reuters) -Slovenia on Thursday imposed an embargo on exports, imports and transit of arms to Israel, two weeks after it declared Israeli ministers persona non grata, the state news agency STA reported citing a government statement.

The measure was announced by Prime Minister Robert Golob after a government session. Golob said that Slovenia was the first European country to make such a move, STA reported.

Slovenia recognised a Palestinian state in June last year and has since repeatedly called for a ceasefire in Gaza and increased aid deliveries to the enclave.

Germany's Wadephul warns Israel 'increasingly isolated' over Gaza war

"In many respects, the Middle East peace process and ultimately the entire region are at a crossroads," Wadephul said on Thursday, addressing discussions in the European Union about sanctions against Israel and the increasing willingness to recognize a Palestinian state.

The minister held meetings in Jerusalem with his Israeli counterpart Gideon Saar, as well as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog.

With regard to the starving population in the Gaza Strip, Wadephul said: "This is a completely unacceptable situation that must change immediately." What is needed is a "fundamental improvement for the people in the Gaza Strip," he argued.
