In Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand, an elementary school teacher faces backlash after CCTV footage revealed her striking an eight-year-old pupil with a broomstick. The incident, which occurred on July 18, became public when the boy's parents shared the footage, alleging the school ignored both this and previous bullying episodes.

The troubling events unfolded as the boy, cleaning the classroom with classmates and the teacher, accidentally dropped a bead. The teacher, in a sudden fit of anger, reportedly struck the child repeatedly with the broomstick and briefly yanked his scarf, an incident caught vividly on CCTV. This shocking footage shows classmates cleaning in silence, likely intimidated by the severe reaction.

Disturbed by their son's unusual quietness and distress at home, the parents pressed him for details and were appalled to learn of the assault. This wasn't an isolated incident. They shared that the boy had been bullied thrice before, with no apparent response from the school.

The footage's rapid spread prompted a swift reaction from local authorities. Channel 7 reported that the school's director met with the family, vowed to review the evidence thoroughly, and temporarily suspended the teacher in question. An inquiry by a special committee is now underway to address these allegations of physical abuse.

Feeling let down by the school, the family turned to the Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat Police Station, pledging to pursue legal action against the teacher. They aim to ensure such an incident never occurs again, highlighting broader concerns about student safety in educational settings.

With the school under scrutiny and the community abuzz, this incident raises pressing questions about violence, accountability, and student welfare in schools. The family’s determination for justice sends a powerful message about protecting children’s rights in the education system.
