The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) has issued a travel advisory urging Thai nationals who must travel to Cambodia to closely monitor flight updates and follow official guidance from the Royal Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh, in light of escalating tensions along the Thai-Cambodian border.

The advisory, released on the morning of 25 July, comes in response to the ongoing conflict near the border between the two nations, which has led to heightened concerns over traveller safety and transportation logistics.

CAAT advised that passengers planning to travel between Thailand and Cambodia should check with their respective airlines for the latest flight information, as airlines may alter aircraft types in order to accommodate the surge in demand from travellers seeking to return to Thailand.

Travellers who already possess flight tickets but wish to alter their departure date or time are encouraged to contact their airlines directly to enquire about seat availability and terms of modification. Passengers are also advised to ensure all travel documents are in order to help ease airport congestion and avoid delays.

In cases where passengers are unable to reach the airport as scheduled, CAAT recommends checking with the airline for any available assistance measures or alternative arrangements.

The authority concluded by stressing the importance of keeping abreast of official announcements and news from government sources to ensure safe and well-informed travel planning during this period of uncertainty.
