  • What sort of deal is this?  Sweden sells military hardware but the buyer isn’t allowed to use it? I’d be buying from a different source.

Outstanding news. Any excuse to just say no to the US, their military industrial complex, and their overarching, highly arrogant hubris at this stage of the game is a great thing, and should be suppor

Go on admit it. You just want to hear a Warthog "ripping a fart" before it peels off, somewhere over Ubon.

Thailand didn't say, "no," to the F35. They wanted the F35. It was the US that said "no" to Thailand.

An enormous blessing in disguise. Thailand got lucky that they were denied.

Whoo-hoo! Let's waste the people's tax monies!

Military everywhere are unnecessary spendthrifts of OPM.

Oh, if that is not a perfect example of "Ad Hominem" then I don't know what is. But you wouldn't even know what it means....

Well at least it gave you an excuse to use "Ad Hominem" bet you've been aching to get that out there.

At least you had to look it up. I wouldn't have to use it if you had the eloquence to express yourself.

I have more words in my vocabulary that you wouldn't understand the meaning of.

You still haven't got the message.... The deal is not off, Sweden just paused it to evaluate the situation.

"The final decision rests with Sweden’s government and the Inspectorate of Strategic Products, responsible for regulating military exports."

All the military hardware exports go through the ISP, as quoted in the post above, before being accepted by the government.

But I know that many of you Americans have difficulty getting your two neurons connecting. You probably don't even know where Sweden is located. And, no, it's not in Australia.

Actually, it isn't even paused. The Swedish Embassy issued a statement denying that the deal is suspended.

No, nothing like that - they just had their accounts suspended for life. 😁

What a vainglorious smug tit ?

I'm not sure where the 60 billion baht for 12 Grippens comes from. That would make them more expensive than the F22. Grippens are around 85 million USD so that's about 33 billion baht.

Doubt they'd buy from China as it seems allied to Cambodia.

Then there's the Chinese submarine deal which stalled as the Thai military specified a German submarine diesel only to find Germany has a military sales embargo with China and refused supply. Last I heard they couldn't get out of the deal and would have to accept a Chinese marinised diesel for the sub.

15 Billion for me, 15 Billion for you and we get the Polish guy to build them?
