In a significant show of support and solidarity, Gulf Development Plc, Thailand's largest energy company, has donated 100 million baht to the Royal Thai Army. This generous contribution aims to support soldiers injured, and the families of those who lost their lives in the ongoing border conflict with Cambodia.

CEO Sarath Ratanavadi highlighted the donation's objective to enhance the well-being and morale of frontline troops and their families, helping them recover with dignity. The official donation ceremony took place at Army Headquarters, attended by Commander-in-Chief Gen Pana Klaewplodthuk and Lt Gen Boonsin Padklang, Commander of the Second Army Region.

Mr Sarath shared a personal connection to the military, noting that his father served in the armed forces. He explained that Gulf Development had previously aided military operations by supplying satellite communication services to remote areas. However, the escalating conflict has prompted the company to extend its support further.

"This fund is dedicated to the families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice or were seriously wounded. As a Thai company, we believe it's our duty to stand with those who protect the nation," Mr Sarath stated.

Beyond this financial contribution, Gulf Development is actively engaging in community support through its GULF Care programme. The initiative has delivered over 2,000 relief kits to soldiers and civilians impacted by the tensions in provinces such as Buri Ram, Surin, Si Sa Ket, and Ubon Ratchathani.

Additionally, the company has provided 1.2 million baht in direct aid to soldiers injured by landmines during patrols in Ubon Ratchathani.

The Commander of the Second Army Region expressed gratitude towards Gulf Development, emphasising that a committee will be established to ensure the funds are used transparently and effectively, aligning with the company's intentions.

Mr Sarath encouraged fellow Thais to contribute in any way possible, affirming the public's shared commitment to national sovereignty and the welfare of the nation's frontline defenders.

This initiative by Gulf Development underscores the importance of corporate responsibility and community solidarity during challenging times, setting a compelling example for others in the business sector.
