EuroNews writes that the Moscow-appointed authorities in Ukraine’s occupied Luhansk region have launched an online “catalogue” of Ukrainian children forced into adoption.

Independent Russian news outlet Meduza reveals that the database contains the profile of 294 minors under the age of 17. Each entry has a name, a photograph, and a brief description of the child’s personality and interests.

Meduza writes that users seeking to get a Ukrainian child can filter out profiles by gender, age, eye color, hair color, and whether if the child has any siblings. According to EuroNews, the children forced into adoption are advertised by character traits such as “calm”, “obedient”, “respectful”, and “reliable to execute tasks.”

Can you even begin to imagine being a displaced parent and seeing your own child in this catalogue? It just beggars belief.
