You've cropped my comment already. How can you say "no cropping required"?

Correct, farmed out to private companies by the government. They all get rankled by them having stars - it is almost a fixation of theirs - like they are ordering room service, hanging out in the bars, having daily housekeeping, a pillow menu, sumpuous breakfast buffets with egg stations, satellite TV etc.

They are basic, no hotel services.

Award winning and most watched news station in the UK

Quote

GB News, which is widely considered to be Britain’s most Islamophobic TV news channel, outpaced the BBC and Sky in July in terms of average viewership.

Surely the government could have taken over one and two star hotels.

No need to respond.   Your arguments are not honest.

I'm not arguing. I'm stating facts.

You are correct. Predictive text got me there. I've edited as needed.

However, the point remains. You said "no cropping required" after you'd cropped.

Award winning? As far as I can see they have only won at the TRIC awards, which they sponsor, and they are not industry awards. They are all voted by the public, so are only a judge of public opinion on those who bother to vote, it is not a serious journalistic accolade.

GB News has been rebuked and sanctioned many time for failing common broadcasting impartiality standards.

And as for its popularity I already did a post about hat, here:

I'd add that Poland, which is deep in Europe (and an EU member), doesn't seem to be having the same problems with illegals.

They have similar problems as everywhere in Europe

Nope.  The Dem, promising manna from heaven, lost.  Even promises of slavery reparations and college loan forgiveness weren't enough to overcome an otherwise unqualified candidate.

Nice Joke. Thanks🥳🤣😂🤗✌️🎉

A simple Question for you Newbee. If migrants are fleeing a war torn country and they decide to escape to a safe Country like Greece,Spain, France, Why do they risk drowning in the Channel to come to the UK.

Because "Dublin2" (goggle it) is not working

2 hours ago, brewsterbudgen said:

Could be that they have a family connections in the UK or like many from Afghanistan and Iraq, previously worked in some capacity for the UK.

In any case far fewer asylum seekers go the UK than to Greece, Spain or France.

Yes, but the few who come to UK make Britons being overstrained.

And yes, many got family connections.

What happens to them if they are denied refugee status?

When they are issued with travel documents they are deported......otherwise they have to survive £5.48 a day.

What? £5.48??? That may be so but don't forget about the free iPhones, free WiFi, room service, Netflix subscriptions, buffet breakfasts, daily turn down, driving lessons, Michelin stared hotel dinners, spa treatments, pillow menus, high end luxury toiletries, and all the other made up stuff some posters here think they get.

There are also stretch limos if they fancy a night out..........but I though it best not to mention that.

Question: how you want to do that? How to prevent them entering UK?

You can reduce or eliminate the pull factors. But therefore you need new laws which probably will violate International laws. This is an unsolved dilemma.

Are you serious? If they don't have a visa, they are ILLEGAL. So deny them entry by any means possible.

Meanwhile, once vetted abroad, increase the intake of real refugees, waiting, waiting in refugee camps while the young chappies take a boat across the channel. It's absurd.

There are many many millions of people who'd love to get out from their failed society, it's sad. But bleeding hearts need to understand the West doesn't have the capacity to take them all in. Life's hard, always has been.

People are too distracted with illegal immigration. Legal immigration is by far the biggest problem.

I disagree. Legal migrants are vetted and go through a strict process before being allowed to live in the UK.

Illegal migrants are mostly young men from countries with awful rights for women etc., who have discarded their documents, nobody knows their background, criminal records etc., and they're free to roam the streets. That's why people are distracted.

The irony of one of the prime architects of Brexit criticising the 'boats', when the UK is no longer able to use the Dublin Regulation as it's no longer part of the EU, thanks to Brexit. 🙄

The Dublin agreement was virtually useless:

Dublin agreement on returning asylum seekers is almost completely useless

Around 50% more asylum seekers were transferred to the UK under the Dublin Regulation than were sent back from Britain to other European countries over the past two years.

It has also emerged that only one in ten of UK requests for the return of asylum seekers under the EU’s Dublin regulations in 2016 led to actual transfers to other European countries

Don't you understand?

You can't send them back. If France eg refuse to take them back....they are your "guests".

1. Tow them back out to sea
2. If that's too harsh, and don't see why not as they are illegal - don't provide any assistance at all and watch that stem the flow.

Farage says he will build detention centres for 24,000 migrants, and deport 600,000. Unrealistic.

WE cannot even build one prison in ten years (hence the overcrowding problem. Where is he going to build, say 24 detention centres? lots of unhappy locals will fight it in the courts. By the time they are built, most of the immigrants will be dead or, gone or integrated. And how much would these detention centres cost? About 12 billion. To deport 600,000 people would require about five 747's working non-stop for at least 2 years, and would require thousand of security staff on the planes. This assumes the logistics of matching deportees to destinations and flights worked smoothly - it never has in the past. And the cost....

Not saying i want the illegal migrants, but they are just a small percentage of all the migrants (mostly 'legal'). There are just too many, of all of them, full stop. UK doesn't need growth, it needs stability. The problems are long standing, due to slashing taxes under Thatcher and selling off housing and public utilities. The foreign and private investors and hedge funds have looted UK's wealth and forced millions to live in private rented housing; every year your rent goes up, do not pay and someone more desperate than you will.

Look at The railways. other public transport, the water companies. Time for nationalisation of all services for the public good.
