Hadush Kebatu has been jailed for 12 months at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court.

Absolutely shocking sentence.

  • Travelling through several countries to seek asylum is not seeking asylum. It's with the specific goal of getting to the UK. 'Asylum' is the nearest safe country.   Isn't it amazing that now

I've just watched the body cam footage of when he was arrested it looks like he doesn't even realise he's done anything wrong.

And instead he got free board and lodging for 12 months (6 with good behavior) and a free flight home to Somalia.

Jonny, the Government has enacted new policies to deport asylum seekers who commit serious crimes to prevent them remaining in the UK during appeals they might make while increasing the number of countries to which the Government’s ’Deport First’ scheme applies.

Do you support these policies?

Do you agree this criminal should be deported (in your rush to stoke grievance you haven’t actually said so)?

If they deport him, he'll probably be on a return dinghy within a month, having ditched his passport enroute.  Again.

They need to throw him in prison, then deport him after he's served a sentence.

I don't follow UK immigration news, but it's not unusual in the US to see stories of illegals who have been deported many times after committing crimes, being deported and coming back across in time for mass on Sunday.
