I think you'll find Biden pumped money into this plant. Seems like the workforce were not legal.

5 mil in investment from Joe. Fair enough but legal workforce would obviously be the way to go.

Maybe the whistleblower was Trump's lover Kim Jong-un?

No better way to firm up international relations and alliances than upsetting Seoul.

The ~350 Koreans overstayed their visas and should be deported.

I's bet it was the UAW that blew the whistle, as they have been trying to organize the plant.

These are good automotive jobs with great benefits. Hyundai getting around the law by using a contractor to provide the labor, and to make sure the labor votes down the UAW.

If it were a Democrat in the White House, the left would be falling over themselves applauding this.

Hypocrite, thy name is lefty.

Just stop already, you're getting sillier.

Congress appropriates funds, not Joe Biden.

Joe Biden did not hire employees at this facility.

Are you American?

Do you support deporting people that are in the county illegally or not?

Indeed. Nothing to do with government support and everthing to do with people being in or working in the country illegally. Do you support people being in and working in a country illegally? Been plenty of "stupid farang" comments on here about people being busted for overstays or working illegally. Where do you sit on this? Do you think Biden opening the border to let in what's estimated to be 20 million plus was a good thing?  As for being American it doesn't matter. The USA is the most powerful and influential country on the planet. As the saying goes if the US sneezes we all catch a cold.

Not now under that idiotic Trump!

It was my understanding that the majority of the arrested workers were employed in building a new factory at the Hyundai site.   Construction work in the US often employs illegals as many Americans don't want to do this kind of work.

From what I've seen no charges have been laid. I guess due process is happening. Due process is of course a typical left talking point even when people being deported have been through the due process but remain in the US illegally. Fact is being in a country illegally is illegal. Please argue agasinst this.

The investigation has been going on for months its main concentration is the criminal enterprising,  hiring practices of the Construction contractors & sub contractors. It also was the largest ever enforcement operation in Homeland Security history.

"As of today, it is our understanding that none of those detained is directly employed by Hyundai Motor Company," Hyundai told Fox News Digital in a statement. "We prioritize the safety and well-being of everyone working at the site and comply with all laws and regulations wherever we operate."

Go after the employers, and they will pull their investment funds, shutter the plant, and cease manufacturing in America.

You really are wasted here, you should be part of the White House economic team.

Oh wait! Wasn't this plant the kind of foreign investment MAGAs were bragging about? 🤣

This was a foreign investment that Biden bragged about ... and no MAGA types are celebrating illegal workers.

…let’s not forget Hillary Clinton who stated that the late senator Robert Byrd who was the leader of a KKK group, was her mentor. The left is The Party of Hate, certifiably so and they’re always trying to cover their tracks by rewriting history and accusing others of what they are themselves, complete filth.

Sure, that's why the deep South switched its allegiance from Democratic to Republican when it voted overwhelmingly for the Republican presidential candidate, Barry Goldwater, who voted to oppose the Civil Rights Act of 1963. And that's when the South began to turn Republican. For further information, look into Richard Nixon's southern strategy.

It's work that many leftist Americans won't do. The only risk they have of getting a splinter is if the pencil they're pushing breaks.

There are a lot more US citizens working in construction than there are illegal aliens working construction in the US.

It's cheaper for billionaires to hire illegal aliens, that's why the left loves them. That illegals push the wages down, and housing costs up for working American citizens is just a win-win for the left.

Goldwater supported civil rights, he opposed affirmative action on Constitutional grounds.

A greater percentage of Republicans voted for the Civil Rights Bill than Democrats.

I'm seriously so confused about how anyone can be ok with people entering the United States illegally, then those same people taking jobs away from American citizens & people in the US legally.
If you care about people from South Korea, Mexico, Panama, etc more than you care about your fellow American citizens, then I'll pay for you to move to one of those countries that you consider better than the US.

Today, illegal border crossers in construction, get the humanitarian do gooders seal of approval, they get stuck or given help with low pay and back-breaking work, while some get a  legal shot to fight back, through far leftist NGO's representing and pushing due process for the oppressed of the world . As for what illegals owe their work pimp, smugglers and shady contractors, they often extort thousands upfront or take a cut of wages, sometimes trapping them in debt payback.

I love how your racist views keep showing their ugly truth.

I dont understand why folks object to illegal construction workers (not Koreans from Hyundai) illegally employed by contractors who are violating Federal Law by employing them, being rounded up pursuant to a judicial warrant.

What am I missing? Indictments of the construction companies? Maybe soon. Construction jobs for underemployed Americans? 475 available. Probably at $25 hour plus benefits.

In a dramatic ICE raid at a Hyundai plant in Georgia, nearly 500 employees have been detained, marking the largest operation of its kind during President Donald Trump's second term. The majority of those held are Korean nationals, sparking international tension.

A sweeping operation at Hyundai’s 3,000-acre facility, known for producing electric vehicles, led to the detention of 475 workers. This has raised concerns in South Korea, which expressed "concern and regret" and called on the US to respect its citizens' rights.

The Department of Homeland Security said the raid followed a "multi-month criminal investigation" into unlawful employment practices. Steve Schrank, from Homeland Security Investigations, emphasised that it was not an immigration sweep but a targeted enforcement action.

This incident highlights a potential clash between strengthening US manufacturing and cracking down on illegal immigration. President Trump defended the operation, stating ICE was simply enforcing the law. He acknowledged, "They were illegal aliens," while also noting the importance of a stable workforce.

Hyundai asserts that the company did not directly employ those detained. While production was unaffected, its South Korean partner, LG Energy Solutions, halted some construction activities. The company is closely examining the situation.

South Korea dispatched diplomats to Georgia and contacted the US Embassy in Seoul, urging care in handling its citizens' rights. The foreign ministry emphasised safeguarding economic activities and citizens' interests amid US law enforcement actions, according to the BBC.

Georgia's Governor, Brian Kemp, had heralded Hyundai's electric vehicle venture as a landmark project, which employed around 1,200 people. Yet, the raid reflects Trump's broader immigration strategy, which seeks to deport those living in the US illegally.

With South Korean firms pledging substantial investments in the US, this operation underscores a delicate balance between enforcing immigration laws and maintaining international business relations.

Correct/agreed.

And all felony convicted need to be arrested and deported - assuming we can find a reasonable destination.

We need comprehensive Immigration reform.

DACA - citizenship day one

undocumented in country - path to citizenship within three years

(both based on good previous behavior)

Immigrants not yet in the country - I've got no plan, but we need immigrants

Better to spend money cleaning up the mess we have most constructively.

Spending money on ICE storm troopers to round up people is a waste of money and resources.

For some reason, we (Americans) always revert to a war footing for many of our problems. And we rarely win these "wars".

Grok fact:

There is significant evidence of widespread racial profiling, with many immigrants of color, particularly those who appear Latino, being swept up in ICE raids and detention, often with little to no criminal records.

Maybe in your part of the US.  Where I lived, in wealthy northern Virginia outside of DC, you couldn't get many locals to do manual work.   Lots of the construction jobs were done by Hispanic workers, legal or illegal.  They also did most of the gardening/landscape work and maintenance, filled jobs at fast food, stocked shelves at stores, and did many of the custodial jobs, among other manual labor.  Your leftist angle is laughable--last time I checked, Trump isn't exactly a leftist.

Workers detained in Hyundai plant raid to be freed and flown home, South Korea says
Federal and immigration agents arrested hundreds of South Korean workers in an operation at the Georgia facility last week.

South Korean workers detained during a massive immigration raid on a Hyundai facility in Georgia will be returned to South Korea on a chartered flight, President Lee Jae Myung's office said Sunday.

Federal and immigration agents arrested 475 people on Thursday — mostly South Korean nationals — while executing a judicial search warrant as part of a criminal investigation into alleged unlawful employment at the facility.

“Negotiations for the release of the detained workers have been concluded," a presidential spokesperson announced Sunday. “Once the procedures are complete, the chartered plane will depart to bring our citizens.”
