Anybody Seen The New Hitachi 7k1000 1tb Drive In Bangkok Yet?

Featured Replies

Is there any chance this drive is made here?

Anybody seen it anywhere?

One thing what is a bit weird, this top drive of Hitachi comes with 3 years warranty ???? The competition Seagate - Western Digital - etc all come with 5 years.

Yes, it is made in Thailand. Here is a photo where you can make that out. But note hard drives of any capacity, even if made in Thailand, are not cheap. For instance, they cost substantially more than the exact same drive exported & purchased in the USA.

Best thing is probably to buy two 7200.10's from SEAGATE then and put them in a RAID enclosure.

Nasty for portability though. would prefer just one drive. I bet this TB drive noisy more than the lower

capacity drives. 13 m/s isn't anything to write home about either.

Price wise it's not too outrageous. I thought I paid over the US price for the 7200.9 I have now.
