Musk's Comments Slammed as Dangerous by UK Leaders

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has condemned Elon Musk's remarks from a weekend rally as "abhorrent." The tech entrepreneur criticised "uncontrolled migration" and called for a change in the British government, adding: "Whether you choose violence or not, violence is coming to you." His inflammatory language has sparked strong responses from UK political figures.

Musk voiced his controversial views at the "Unite The Kingdom" march in London, attended by over 150,000 people, organised by far-right activist Tommy Robinson. Approximately 5,000 joined a counter-protest by Stand Up To Racism. Musk's dialogue with Robinson included a call for a new government vote, positioning himself as a defender of Britain’s identity amidst rising immigration.

Politicians have reacted sharply, with Home Secretary Mahmood stating, "No one gets to mess with British democracy" and Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey labelling Musk's words as "deeply irresponsible." Davey criticised Musk’s focus on self-interest rather than British welfare, and urged caution over Musk's potential business interests in the UK. Musk retorted, calling Davey "a craven coward".

Downing Street echoed Mahmood’s disapproval, condemning Musk’s "dangerous and inflammatory" rhetoric. Questions have arisen about the government's relationship with Musk’s ventures, notably a call by the Liberal Democrats to reconsider awarding contracts to Tesla, Musk's company. Sir Ed Davey also encouraged leaving Musk's social media platform, X, although he confirmed the Liberal Democrats would remain on it to challenge Musk directly.

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage acknowledged ambiguity in Musk's words but interpreted them as advocating for political activism rather than literal violence. While Musk has previously supported Farage, he expressed doubts about Farage’s leadership capabilities earlier this year.

Key Takeaways

  • Elon Musk's inflammatory remarks at a rally drew criticism from UK leaders.
  • Home Secretary and Liberal Democrats expressed concerns over democracy threats.
  • Discussions arise on government contracts with Musk's Tesla following comments.

Yes, you only have to look at the views from a helicopter to realize that the establishment are once again trying to fool the people. What ever the total figure is, it is closer to1,000,000.

I wonder how many armed police will greet Musk if he dares to come to the UK.

It was 5 for Graham Linehan for his trans joke, so surely at least 30 for Musk? Maybe a couple of tanks as well, just for the full intimidation factor from Starmer's tyrannical regime.

It's strange when an American originating from South Africa cares more about Britain than the British government, but here we are.

PS. the rally was over half a million.

"craven coward" is a good example of a tautology (saying the same thing twice).

Literally it says "cowardly coward."

Mistah Musk: he no spika da Eeengleesh good.  He tautological...

Musk's Comments Slammed as Dangerous by UK Leaders

Musk's comments are dangerous FOR UK leaders.

Sadly Musk's comments will be ignored by many, just

like his comments before the German election.

It's hard to revert brainwashed people.

Totally agree.

Thing is Elon Musk cannot  be intimidated, advertisers tried, it didn't work.

I agree absolutely. Brits would never interfere in the politics of another country. Oh hang on……
