US President Donald Trump has been warmly received by King Charles and the senior British royals at Windsor Castle during his state visit to the UK. The visit kicked off with President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump arriving in ornate carriages, greeted by an impressive military ceremony despite the rainy weather. The event symbolises efforts to strengthen ties and discuss key global issues between the UK and the US.

King Charles, alongside Queen Camilla and the Prince and Princess of Wales, participated in welcoming the US leader. The welcoming ceremony featured inspections of troops, performances by military bands, and a private meeting between President Trump and the Prince and Princess of Wales. Trump expressed admiration for St George's Chapel and viewed historical documents related to US independence, calling them "the real deal."

Notably, the lavish state visit included significant exchanges of gifts. Trump received a leather volume celebrating the US Declaration's 250th anniversary and a flag from his inauguration day. Melania Trump was gifted an Anya Hindmarch handbag and a silver bowl. King Charles received a sword replica symbolising military unity between the two nations.

Although the visit was closed to the public, it included a procession around Windsor with senior US officials. Alongside the pomp, political interests loom large. Trump’s visit hopes to bolster the alliance with the US on defence matters, ensuring NATO commitments and support for Ukraine. British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer joined Trump to witness a Red Arrows flypast, although adverse weather cancelled an F-35 display.

Amidst royal festivities, Trump's visit supports a major trade agenda. A £31 billion technology investment deal was announced, focusing on AI, quantum computing, and nuclear power, with significant contributions from firms like Microsoft. This visit is more than ceremonial; it aims to fortify economic partnerships, with the US poised as a crucial ally to the UK amidst geopolitical uncertainties.

Key Takeaways:

  • President Trump received a grand ceremonial welcome at Windsor Castle.
  • Major UK-US tech investment deals were confirmed, enhancing collaboration.
  • Trump's visit aimed at fortifying diplomatic and economic ties with the UK.

But poor Kate did an excellent job being attracted by Donald Hitler-Trump.

Because, despite Trump lying about having Khan "uninvited" from the event, this was the Royal part of his whistle-stop State Visit and city mayors typically don't feature in these dog and pony shows. Remember, it was the British Prime Minister who presented the King's invitation to Trump in the WH. Bugger all to do with lefty mayors no matter how much they boil your piss.

Maybe to hide the fact that's a double?

Because Windsor is not London? 🤔

Great to see the future King and Mr Trump getting on so well.

Magnificent pictures of the new Fab 4.

2 great men and 2 beautiful women.

The future's bright, the future's orange. :clap2:

Wouldn't want to be a plate in Montecito.

You sound triggered?

I disagree.

Sadiq Khan would normally have been invited to Trump's September 16–18, 2025, state visit (e.g., state banquet at Windsor Castle) but was excluded due to Trump's personal request is supported by multiple reliable sources reporting on the event. These confirm Trump's direct influence overrode standard protocol, where the London Mayor is typically included for logistical and symbolic reasons as the host city's leader.

Mayors of host cities (like Khan for London) are routinely involved in state visits for coordination and representation. For example, during previous U.S. presidential visits (e.g., Obama's 2011 trip), local leaders were included in ancillary events.

GB News (September 18, 2025): "Donald Trump is understood to have requested Sadiq Khan not be invited to the State Banquet... Trump said he asked that Sir Sadiq not be invited to the dinner last night."

Yahoo News / The Independent (September 18, 2025): "Donald Trump has revealed he requested London mayor Sir Sadiq Khan was not invited to a state banquet during his historic second state visit... He said he asked that Sir Sadiq not be invited to the state banquet or attend other events."

The UK government has not publicly confirmed Trump's request (to maintain diplomacy), Khan's office and UK media (e.g., Sky News) corroborate that he preemptively opted out, effectively honoring the exclusion without official acknowledgment.

You have to admit the British do B/S better than most, takes nothing to impress a POTUS.

Thanks Donald, I know it must have been painful to be in his company for a few minutes but you took one for the team.

Then, back to business. Charming the beautiful Princess Catherine. Marvellous.

Maybe photoshop. She also appears to let Epstein's pal hold her hand.

I thought UK was among the many countries that do not grant entry to convicted felons.

Whatever gave you that idea? We allow entry to anyone. Paedo's, rapists, terrorists. We have a "No Passport No problem" policy. We even provide free hotels for them.

I notice our Queen was wearing something of a similar size yet you have not addressed it. You seem to have an unhealthy obsession with your president and the 1st Lady.

I sincerely hope that he's now back in the US.

Noteworthy that they never let him near London for fear of massive demonstrations.

Incidentally ""Lord"" Farage was not invited and Liberal leader Sir Ed Davey, to his great credit refused the invitation.

Anyone see the photo showing Trump's table manners?

The whole thing was a charade by the UK to blow smoke up trumps ass because they know the vainglorious narcissist needs the attention because of his own self believed importance. Wisely he was kept hidden away from the public so he wouldn’t see how much contempt the brits have for him. But some still managed to get their points across with a magnificent display of video footage of Epstein and him played on the walls of Windsor castle.
Ironically other buddies of Epstein weren’t present, Mandelson was mean’t to have been but after his friendship became known he got fired and ponce Andrew was hiding his guilty ass somewhere far away. Seem’s a shame, they could of had a nice chat with trump about Epstein and the parties, their own sexual deviances and knowing he was a pedophile and doing absolutely nothing whilst he raped underage girls!

Pork chops on the menu maybe? not sure if it was an over-nighter or not, but if it was,the bacon sandwiches may have also put him off

A London fashion commentator said the choice of hat was intended to deflect all attention toward POTUS.

Oh, Jonny. The truth has to be faced eventually, no matter how hard it is for you to swallow.

Far from it being painful for Trump, he enjoys being in Starmer's company. I know that this fact causes you pain but there is it.

I'm also surprised that you didn't mention the £150bn investment which this Labour government has secured. After all, this must be good news and we both want the UK to be successful no matter what party is in power, don't we?🤔

This deal would never have happened if it wasn't for Brexit .

Conservatives need to take all the credit for this deal .

Labour would still be finding Greece's long lunch breaks

Absolute tosh.

What EU regulation(s) would have prevented these investments being made?

ALL the current problems in the UK are cause by "15 years of Tory misrule".........................apart from when there's good news and its "Well done Labour".

this deal would have been a long time in the making , using Trumps visit to announce it

So there are no EU regulations which would have prevented these investments being made. Glad that we cleared that one up.

Cameron's introduction of the Equality Act and Johnson's quick and unequivocal support of Ukraine were plus points, however overall I'd hardly call the 15 years of Tory rule a roaring success.

You and your fellow right-wingers are quick enough to criticise this Labour administration - not without justification sometimes - when things go wrong, but you simply can't bring yourselves to acknowledge any success.

A long time: 15 years perhaps?

I don't doubt that UK and US civil servants are in regular contact about trade matters, etc but the plain fact is that no significant deals were completed under the previous administrations. It has taken this Starmer government and this Trump administration to set the conditions for these deals to take place and both can take credit for that.

Trump's published remarks at Windsor Castle:

It's a singular privilege to be the first American president welcomed here. And if you think about it, it's a lot of presidents, and this was the second state visit… And that's the first, and maybe that's going to be the last time. I hope it is actually. But this is truly one of the highest honors of my life. Such respect for you and such respect for your country.

...

And fifth of all, if humanity speaks, writes, thinks, and prays in the language born on these isles, and perfected in the pages of Shakespeare and Dickens and Tolkien and Lewis, Orwell and Kipling. Incredible people, unbelievable people like we have rarely seen before, probably won't see again.

-- at least not that day.

Yep, got a point there Ray.

Also Brexit was a good thing, otherwise we'd be paying higher tariffs  like the EU.
