21 day visit

Featured Replies

A friend here in Aust intends visiting Thailand for 21 days and has asked if he requires a tourist visa?

He has been advised by the Thai Consulate in Sydney that since Sept 11 visa processing now takes min 3 days he leaves Sydney Thur 19 Jun.

To the best of my knowledge he does not require a visa, is this correct and is there anything he should know when passing through Don Muang (with respect to non visa requirement). His return ticket has him departing July 14th (hence only 3 week stay).  ???

Assuming that your friend holds an Australian passport...

No need to get a visa first. Just turn up at Don Muang and he'll be issued with 30 day visa.

To - Brian & The Dr thank you for the timely advice it has saved some heartache.

The Thai lady at the Thai Consulate in Sydney who provided the 3 day time frame for visas' has always been very helpful in my own personal dealings.(Just thought it was worth making this point on her behalf) On a previous occaision with regards to myself she advised that since I was married to a Thai I should use Non Immg Type O to establish a history for future reference.

Once again thanks for the help
