October 22, 2025Oct 22 Popular Post I don't understand why this is so controversial. In the long run its better than setting up the big tent for events. Have any of you been to DC in the summer? It's another example of people hating Trump for the sake of it

The real issue is he seems to be so focused on it and mentions it at every opportunity - almost like his focus is off things that may be a tad more important ...

Quid pro quo. Private donors "ponying up money", is grift, plain and simple. As for Trump covering the difference, yeah right, he's deeply in debt on penalties from the sexual molestation and defamation of E Jean Carol and other criminal convictions. Its kinda Teapot Dome all over again, except this time the scam is the White House and the president himself whose the perp; whilst the stooges are the American people, hoodwinked out of their unquestioned love for anything Dear Leader asks them.
October 22, 2025Oct 22 White House East Wing will be torn down fully to make way for Trump ballroom WASHINGTON, Oct 22 (Reuters) - The full East Wing of the White House will be torn down to make way for President Donald Trump's new ballroom, an administration official said on Wednesday, despite Trump's earlier pledge that the project would not interfere with the existing landmark. Demolition workers began tearing down the section of the White House that holds offices for the first lady and other staff on Monday. Trump announced that ground had been broken on the project after images of the demolition circulated in news reports, and the full extent of the tear-down only became clear two days later The action contradicts Trump's promise earlier this year that the ballroom project, which he has wanted to build for some time, would not touch the existing East Wing structure. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/white-house-east-wing-will-be-torn-down-fully-make-way-trump-ballroom-official-2025-10-22/ "it's déjà vu all over again" Over time, the 15-foot tall limestone relief panels, depicting nearly nude women dancing, at the top of the Fifth Avenue facade, became a "Bonwit Teller signature". Donald Trump, who purchased the building thanks to Genesco's CEO John L. Hanigan, wanted to begin demolition in 1980. Trump "promised the limestone reliefs" to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. When they were "jackhammered" "to bits" the act was condemned. Trump said that his company had obtained three independent appraisals of the sculptures, which had found them to be "without artistic merit. An official at the Metropolitan Museum of Art disputed the statement, stating: "Can you imagine the museum accepting them if they were not of artistic merit? Architectural sculpture of this quality is rare and would have made definite sense in our collection." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonwit_Teller

AI quickie: It's called a ballroom because the term comes from the Latin word "ballare," which means "to dance". A ballroom is a large room for dancing, specifically for large, formal parties called balls. These large rooms are designed to accommodate many people and often have high ceilings to accommodate orchestras and enhance the acoustics. NB President Trump likes to dance

NB President Trump likes to dance That's pretty amusing considering the fact that he's one of the worst dancers in the western world, have you ever seen the guy move? It's not exactly an advertisement for "white man rhythm".

As for the shutdown of government, that is 100% on the Democrats in the Senate. The House passed a resolution to fund the government and the Dems in the Senate refuse to pass it. At the moment he is juggling four international situations- China, Middle East, Russia/Ukraine, and South America. And making progress everywhere. Plus deporting a record number of illegals. So yeah, I would say he is a bit busy... Not too busy to be playing golf every weekend. Scumbag Trump.

Trump, of course, ignored all of it, while lying through his teeth about the construction. Disgraceful behavior, as always. He quite obviously believes that he will be residing in the White House for the rest of his days. He is certainly working towards it with the measures he is taking in America right now. He is well on the way to becoming dictator or as he would like to be called King.

Michelle planted a "kitchen garden," which may have included watermelons. You may be referring to a computer-generated image of watermelons on the White House front lawn disseminated by a mayor in Orange County, California, during the Obama presidency. The unabashed racism of the image was commented on at the time.

No expert but not sure that is accurate. According to some research on the National Capital Planning Commission "While the NCPC typically reviews and approves construction projects on federal property in Washington, D.C., its jurisdiction over the White House is limited by executive authority. The commission’s chairman, Will Scharf, has stated that the NCPC does not have jurisdiction over demolition or site preparation work on federal property, only over "vertical construction" The Federal shutdown would prevent this Commission from operating. Looked on Whitehouse gov. Have there been or are there artists renderings of the desired Ballroom and/or East Wing publicly released?
